Error after update from 4.3.11 to 4.3.13
Hello.
I'm running a few sites where the AD DC is a FreeBSD jail.
Due to the recent CVEs, I upgraded one of them from 4.3.11 to 4.3.13 and
suddenly I run into problems.
I don't know whether this matters, but the upgrade involved replacing
openldap-client with openldap-sasl-client.
Anyway, after the new binaries were in place, Samba would not start.

Samba 4.1 gentent, ls, no display domain user name on Primary ACDC but wbinfo -u yes
Now I realized what the documentation says, sucessfull.
I returned to run the above command and these results changed.
Change the settings of smb.conf, now looks:
[global]
workgroup = KENNEDY
realm = kennedy.edu
netbios name = PROTEUS
server role = active directory domain controller
dns forwarder = 200.40.220.245
allow dns updates = nonsecure

Samba 4.1 gentent, ls, no display domain user name on Primary ACDC but wbinfo -u yes
Ready changed what you asked me and restart the samba service.
Yet I only see the UID instead of domain users. :-/
One question.
I do not see the service "winbind or winbindd" running, is this correct.
I can not find it in init.d
Also "wbinfo -u" Show me the domain users.
Thanks for helpme, sorry for noob question.

Samba4 winbind and .gvfs share mounting in Nautilus problem
Hi everyone
I have S4 with winbind working fine with s3fs. Fine that is only when
logging in where it auto-mounts my own /home folder.
When I log in, my /home folder is correctly mounted automatically:
gvfs-fuse-daemon on /home/CACTUS/steve/.gvfs type fuse.gvfs-fuse-daemon
(rw,nosuid,nodev,user=CACTUS\steve2)
When I attempt to access another share by e.g. smb://server/reports (or

samba4 vfs objects don't work
Hi
It seems the vfs objects are not loaded.
I've joined the domain with
"samba-tool domain join DOMAIN DC -UAdministrator%Passwort --realm=DOMAIN.LOCAL --server=windows-dc.domain.local --use-ntvfs"
The modules zfsacl.so and recycle.so exists in /usr/local/lib/shared-modules/vfs
But neither the ZFS module nor the recycler works.

RPC Server Unavailable Message
Try to give your samba server another NetBIOS hostname than localhost and comment out the lines with server services and dcerpc endpoint servers.
Check your DNS back end. For now it seems due to your smb.conf that you are not using the samba internal DNS server. It's not a must have, but samba does not provide dns. NetBIOS name should be equal to your DNS hostname.
After that restart samba
