Rsync sincronize complete file and not the changes
Hi, i have probed rsync for sinchronize files beetwen windows 2000 Server and Linux server. I have mounted the windows directory with samba and i have executed rsync with -avr parameters to sinchronize the files. After sinchronization i have opened one file but i didn't made any change but openned date of the file. I have relaunched sinchronization and the file is completely sinchronized and

A secondary domain controller for remote clients
Hello I have a samba PDC in an office with folder redirection. The people wants to access their files remotely, so i have set up a simple hamachi VPN. The clients can connect and sinchronize their files, but its extremely slow. Is it posible to make a second samba server in a high speed datacenter sinchronized with the office one? Can anyone give me some info about how to do that? Thank you

rebind interface configuration in samba
Hi, I have a virtual IP which migrate from one server to another depending the server status. I have a problem with this behaviour and samba. When the IP migrates to another server, in the first server samba is stopped. When the IP is going to come back to the first server, samba is started and after that the IP come back. The problem is: Samba (smbd) doesn't bind the IP because it is

Sound card problem in acoustic echo cancellation
From: Steve Underwood <steveu at coppice.org> > It seems some cards use a PLL for their ADC, so they can lock to an > incoming SPDIF signal, but always use a local crystal clock source for > their DAC. These cards do not have their ADC and DAC synchronised. Do common on-board or PCI sound card lock to some incoming signal? Yes, there is a crystal oscillator and a PLL or divider to

Dear R-colleagues, Is it possible to mix TEXT and VALUE of objects in y (or x) label of a plot? For instance: f<-2 plot(..., ylab='Axis f', ...) where "f" means the VALUE of "f". Sound card problem in acoustic echo
Hi all, The conclusion of the discussion is that most sound cards indeed have different capture and playing frequencies for the unknown reasons. But we all know the adaptive filter of the AEC relies on the synchronization of the far-end and near-end sampling rates. Then Has anybody tried to use speex AEC in Windows system? How do you solve this problem? (I have tested speex AEC. In most

Issue with samba SID
Hello: I have a samba PDC with LDAP, samba 3.0.33 and 389DS 1.2.5. I am adding computer accounts with smbldap-useradd script configured in smb.conf like this: add machine script = /usr/bin/perl -w /opt/ldap/smbldap-tools/bin/smbldap-useradd -w -c '%a' -t 10 -J Equipos '%u' My problem is that I get a samba sid I don't understand why samba creates like that. I

A question about BDC's
Hi, i have a samba server as PDC in my office. Now, some co-workers wants to access their files from outside. Making a VPN does not work because my office has a crappy connection. Is it possible to install a BDC in a datacenter for the remote people?

Is possible? --- reposting + new
Hi. I'm trying to find a solution for our windows clients. I will explain my situation. We have kerberos 5 (mit) kdc, openafs without kaserver (authentication using kerberos), openldap, everything on debian stable servers. What do our unix/linux clients do? They authenticate over kerberos (pam), gain tickets and consequently gain the afs token (krb5afs or openafs_session), call ldap and

Spacing of text does not match spacing of bars in barplot
I have a very standard barplot. My labels are too long to be printed horizontally under each bar, so I am using text to put the labels on a 45 degree slant. However, the labels are spaced more narrowly than the bars, so on an 8 vertical bar plot, the end of the eighth label is lined up with the seventh bar. Preferably I don't want to do every text label separately (I'm having this

testing for significance in random-effect factors using lmer
Hi, I would like to know whether it is possible to obtain a value of significance for random effects when aplying the lme or related functions. The default output in R is just a variance and standard deviation measurement. I feel it would be possible to obtain the significance of these random effects by comparing models with and without these effects. However, I'm not used to perform

Statistics about rsync "downloads" from server
Hello, we're running an rsync on a server and would like to know how many people are downloading (sinchronizing) the files from server (something like a list with "timestamp, IP, exact request, bytes transferred"). What is the easiest way to do it? I have tried to search for "rsync statistics", but that's a bad choice to ask a search engine for. Thanks a lot. Mojca

[PATCH] ocfs2: llseek requires to ocfs2 inode lock for the file in SEEK_END
llseek requires ocfs2 inode lock for updating the file size in SEEK_END. because the file size maybe update on another node. if it not . after call llseek in SEEK_END. the position is old. this bug can be reproduce the following scenario: at first ,we dd a test fileA,the file size is 10k. on NodeA: --------- 1) open the test fileA, lseek the end of file. and print the position. 2) close the test

Sound card problem in acoustic echo cancellation
Then why ONE sound card have different capture and playback rate? It must be ONE single physical clock generator which is used by both ADC and DAC in the sound card, isn't it? If you are a hardware engineer. Will you design two different physical clock for ADC and DAC seperately? What on earth causes this problem? Who knows its intrinsic real reason? Isn't there any other solutions? For

Large Amount of Listeners
I have to setup an online radio to support 5K users initially and grow into 80k users later. 1.Has anyone any tips on this? 2.Would you recommend serving more than 2000 listeners on a single server? 3.Are there any redundance features on the relay server mode? I was thinking about setting up 2 servers to receive the encoded stream and then setting up the relaying servers so they try the
