Samba4 AD/DC Replication
Hi folks!
I'm having some trouble replicating a domain.
I followed the steps in this guide:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC
I followed the steps and everything worked fine for me.
but...
If I make changes on the PDC, these changes are replicated to the Secondary
DC, but if I make changes to the Secondary, these are not seen in the PDC.
Is there any way

Migrating Win2000 PDC to Samba4 AD
Hi!
We want to replace an old Win2000 Server (PDC). As we've already some
Samba4 AD-Controllers up and running we would like to migrate to that
setup.
Unfortunatly we're not really good at Windows-Stuff - our main Focus
ist Linux.
So perhaps someone could point as to a good (and ideally painless :-))
way to migrate.
So the current setup is:
A single Win2000 PDC used mainly as

GNOME menu entries for wine run games
I have been trying to add a launcher to the gnome menu for some of my wine games, but I have found that when I add them to the menu the games complain about missing files, I assume because it is looking for the rest of the game files in the directory that the launcher is in. This doesn't happen when I run the same command within the games directory they work fine.
I used to have this problem

Add Win2008R2 DC to Samba4 domain
Has anyone successfully added a Win2008R2 DC to a Samba4 domain?
The issue I am encountering is the sysvol/netlogon shares are not created. I can manually create them and copy files, but as soon as I demote/forcefully remove the Samba4 server, the Win2008R2 server refuses to serve requests for the domain. I cannot even manage it through ADUC.

Samba4 Secondary DC as Backup DC (redundancy)
Hi,
I've sucessfull created a secondary DC using the wiki manual (
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC), and is working
perfectly, user and groups are synced on both and I can use any of them for
login using clients like Owncloud, Prosody, python scripts...
Now my question is: ?how I can use that secondary DC as backup when the
main fails?.
I've tried to disable the

Remove Win2008R2 from Domain, remove missing DC from domain
Hi!
I'm almost done with a migration from Win2k to Samba4. To get this
going I had to install a Win2008R2 Server as an intermediate server,
now I want to get rid of it.
I found a bug that Win2008R2 can not be demoted from Samba Domain - so
I think I've to remove it somehow else.
But I couldn't find anything about that in the docs and on google.
So anyone out there with a

Wiki: Join a domain as a DC
Hello,
last night I finished the new "Join a domain as a DC" documentation in
the Wiki: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC
It's a complete re-write and contains more details and examples.
Additional information have been moved to extra pages and unnecessary
things were removed.
I had validated the guide in my test environment twice and already used
it today at

[PATCH v2 0/2] v2v: Copy *.dll files since they can be part of the driver (RHBZ#1311373).
Since v1:
- Fix a bug in the calculation of lc_basename. By luck this doesn't
affect anything given the contents of the current ISO.
- Don't copy the WdfCoInstaller*.dll files.

Secondary DC
I want to create another DC in my network.
Today, my DC is Debian 7 with Samba 4.2.1 compiled (source package).
Are ther problem if I install another DC with Debian 8 and Samba 4.1.17

I will follow the tutorial below:

Samba 4 Additional DC existing domain
Using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 32-bit. Tried following the wiki to install an additional DC in an existing AD domain. Here are the steps I took:
1. Installed the Ubuntu prerequisites and then I built from source. It compiled and installed successfully to /usr/local/samba
2. Skipped Step 1 Provision Samba according to the wiki It's not required to install as an additional DC in existing

I can update and change existing records but not create any new records via the DNS tool on the win2008R2 server. However if i

DNS Issues when joining a Domain as a DC
Hi,
yesterday i tried to join a domain as a DC with bind9 as dns-backend on
Debian Wheezy with samba 4.1.11 from backports. I followed the tutorial
in the wiki https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC but
didn' find the instruction completely clear, so perhaps i made a mistake
during the join.
It is written there:

[LLVMdev] copy instructions
This is a simple SSA code generation 101 question.
If I follow the IR code generation techniques in the Dragon book the
statement
x = y + z
would translate into something like this in SSA/LLVM
%0 = add %y, %z
%x = %0
Obviously "copy instructions" like %foo = %bar are senseless in SSA
since %foo and %bar are immutably fixed to the same value and there
is no need for two aliases

problem with convert-tool: "Invalid mailbox name"
Hello everyone.
I'm having a problem with convert-tool while trying to convert mbox
folders to maildir.
I'm running dovecot-1.1.16 on Centos 5.3
If the user has subfolders, convert-tool fails saying:
"Mailbox conversion: Couldn't create mailbox sub/folder3: Invalid mailbox name"
However, if I ran the convert-tool with the same arguments and same
folders with dovecot
