Unable to get primary group information when using AD authentication with samba-4.10.4
Hi, When using AD authentication from a rhel8.1 environment with samba-4.10.4 installed, information on the primary group group01 set on the AD side for any user user01 cannot be obtained. Panic: file dsync-mailbox-tree-sync.c: line 576 (node_mailbox_trees_cmp): assertion failed: (ret != 0)
Hi, Here is a crash that's happening using the latest Dovecot version (v2.2.27 on CentOS7 x86_64): We are using replication. Judging by the second server's logs, I believe this has something to do with the fact that we're using the lazy_expunge plugin. Every night after midnight, we purge the lazy_expunge namespace by running a command similar to following one on the main server

problems with public (sub)folders
Hi, i am trying to share a maildir++ mailbox to other users but i can only subscribe to the root directory. The subfolders of the public mailbox do not appear in the exported list. Does anyone has an idea how i can share the subfolders too without creating symlinks for every single folder? Best, Frederik >>>>> ls -lA /var/mail/public .user01 -> /var/mail/user01/Maildir

adduser is contacting the AD server?
Hello, I'm just wondering if someone stumble upon this. We are trying to create a local account but it looks like the adduser script is contacting the AD server for some reason and saying that the user "already exists" when it doesn't locally. Is there a way to disable adduser to contact AD or something similar? Thank you. [root at server01~]# adduser user01 adduser: user

group membership inconsistency on AD domain member
Hi, I've been running a samba server with winbind (CentOS 7) as a member of an AD Domain (Windows 2012 R2) for several months without a problem. "Suddenly" I'm seeing the problem that the membership in newly created AD groups isn't correctly visible for some users on the samba server or only after some indefinite amount of time. I'm looking simply at the output of

Samba 4.1.7 AD DC - Local Administrator == Domain Administrator ?!?
Hello! I have upgraded a Samba 3 NT DC instance to a Samba 4.1.7 AD DC. The update created an user called 'DOMAIN/Administrator' which is supposed to be the new uber-'root' for the AD domain. Now i just discovered using a W7 box that the local administrator user of this box (which is called 'Administrator', too) can do all the things the 'DOMAIN/Administrator'

Samba AD and roaming profile permissions
I'm running Samba 4.7.0 on FreeNAS 11.1-U2. It's configured as an Active Directory Domain Controller, and I'm trying to configure roaming profiles. I've created a profile dataset in ZFS that uses Windows permissions. I've configured the share and file system permissions as described in the "Using Windows ACLs" section of:

pam_time.so and /etc/security/time.conf
I am investigating how to limit user logins via sshd to specific times of day. I have the basic syntax but what I want to know is how does pam_time.so process time.conf. Say I have a clutch of users that should login between 07:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday. I infer that the following will handle that: sshd;*;*,Wk0700-1800 However, what is not clear to me is how does one permit certain

Hi, Our setup: Samba (classic) DC: cdr-dc01 Samba (classic) member server: cdr-fs01. This is also a file server AD realm: CDR.internal We migrated to AD and came across an issue with accessing shares. The shares in question worked pre-migrated. i.e using a windows machine a user was able to access that share. The share in question was locked down to just that user Post migration, we are able

Group mapping problem - please help
Hi. I'm using Samba 2.2.7a-security-rollup-fix (RH-9.0) as member of WinNT4 domain. I joined samba to the domain. I configured the winbind daemon and nsswitch switch to map NT users to unix users. Then I set ACL support on an ext3 partition and share the mount point of this partition with ACL Samba support: - my share is [test_share] - the directory is /mnt/test_dir Shortly: ----
