Timer doesn't appear to start
One last update. I needed to log out and in to get the group add of my user nutmon to be recognized. My permissions are now root:nut on upssched.conf and it works. Timer doesn't appear to start
The time and upssched-cmd are now working. Here are the issues I had: 1) Did not define NOTIFYCMD in upsmon.conf Added NOTIFYCMD /sbin/upssched 2) Added +EXEC to NOTIFYMSG rules I am using 3) Change ownership of upssched.conf to my nut user nutmom. I had added nutmon to the group nut but it didn't work. Thanks again for all your guidance On Tue, Jan 28, 2020 at 7:00 AM

If you look closer at: > pi at nutpi:~ $ sudo ls -alt /home/nutmon > total 32 > -rw------- 1 nutmon nutmon 172 Jan 26 12:32 .bash_history > drwxrwx--- 2 nutmon nutmon 4096 Jan 26 12:32 upssched there is a d in the first position of the upssched permissions showing this is a directory. This is the directory location for PIPEFN and LOCKFN as defined in

Shutdown script does not trigger
Dear nut users, I am fighting to configure a smooth server shutdown with an ubuntu server and a dell usb ups using nut. It seems that the drivers connect properly (upsc gives very coherent outputs). However I can't get anything to happen when the ups goes on battery. How can I be sure the the UPS status is really monitored ? Is there a particular log file where I upsmon reports problems

--detect-moved patch and --link-dest
Hi, I am using --link-dest for my rotating backups. Noticing the "--detect-renamed-lax" patch to rsync 3.0.0. I was hoping to make use of the --detect-moved. Unfortunately, "--detect-moved" does not seem to recognize the --linkdest option. A moved file is getting transferred again and a new file is created at the receiving end instead of linking to the moved

Firefox Video Capability
One of our summer interns has stayed on during the school year to work some weekends on special projects. This past weekend, her assignment was to trouble shoot problems with Firefox when trying to view various on-line training videos. At some web sites, the video associated with the page will not play and we get the messages shown below.? The Download statement is actually a link and was used to

rsync takes long pauses in xfer ?
Hey folks, I did some googling on this but did not come up with much. I'm using rsnapshot which uses rsync, and I notice some pretty long pauses in the xfers as you can see on this graph from "munin". THe machine in question right at the moment is doing nothing but rsyncing ( rsnapshoting ) some 12T of NAS storage to local disk, so there is nothing else going on at all.

smbmount question
Hi, I'm running Linux 2.2.2 w/ Samba 2.0.2, using the smbmount that comes with Samba 2.0.2. I noticed that when I mount shares, smbmount sticks around, almost like a daemon: [root@jason /root]# smbmount //XXXX.gatech.edu/XXXX$ "XXXXXX" -U jkau -c "mount /mnt/cnd" < /dev/null > /tmp/smbmount.out [root@jason /root]# ps ax | grep smbmount 10678 ? Access denided when join samba+ldap PDC
Hi all! I'm settting up a samba PDC on SuSE 9.3 with samba 3 using OpenLDAP. I've got some problems when i try to join a Windows XP Pro sp2 worstation into the samba PDC. Windows tell me that i dont have access to join the domain, and samba logfiles says that LDAP can't be running as non-root. When I try to join the domain from XP it asks after login and passwd and here i've try

samba 2.2.7a and multiple logins...
Hello I use a new samba server with LDAP support as PDC for some Windows2000 and WindowsXP machines. All is working nice. The useer can login with a user/password in the domain, we have remote profiles, the user can access the samba shares and print etc. But after some time (< 1 day) we get a smbstatus output like the attached file. Users are connected multiple times with the same share

Writing static HTML?
I have a forum but, unlike most forum, posts are deleted periodically. I''d like the administrator to optionally choose whether or not he wants deleted posts archived (removed from the database but stored on the fileserver) so that he or she can do whatever with the posts. When a post is deleted, I''d like it to be saved as static HTML and have the appearance of however it

Losing registration - ast 1.4.39 and innomedia 6328-2Re
All, I'm having a problem with an Innomedia 6328-2Re (old Sunrocket Gizmo). It keeps losing registration after a period of time ranging from a few minutes to a few hours. It seems that right before it loses registration, it fails to send a second register (after the 401 unauthorized). Here's a transcript from wireshark (at the end). The last message is all that's received and
