Win7: Older user accounts works
I got very strange behavior: Server A has local passwords (made with smbpasswd -a) and it also use password from other server: security = server password server = b.domain.example passdb backend = tdbsam With OLDER user accounts everything works. With WIN-XP everything works. With CMD-PROMPT everything works. With LOCAL PASSWORDS everything works. With PERMISSIONS TO GROUP everything

Shared instance
Hello. I have inbox instance for incoming messages and second private instance for archiving mails with different maildir location. Sharing for folders in inbox instance works perfectly. But it does not work for folders in archiving instance. I can't create two shared instances, dovecot fails. Can I have two locations in one shared instance?

CD Baby using FLAC to archive 40,000 CDs
Hey FLAC gang - Just thought you'd like to know CD Baby has switched to FLAC for archiving the 40,000 CDs we have in stock. Luckily HD space is down below $1/gig so we got a 6-terabyte RAID-5 box set up for about $7000. Got the FreeBSD boxes churning away night and day, ripping and archiving. I'll do a more formal press release for ya in a couple months as we're further along, but

Tutorial: Samba as NT4 Primary Domain Controller
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I'm writing a tutorial with which people can easily setup a Samba machine as a NT4 Primary Domain Controller (using CentOS 3). I'm handling just about everything that's related: - - NTP - - DHCP - - Samba - - SNMP and more... Note that this is only a preliminary version, it may contain errors. But I'd really appriciate any

scalability and arhive ideas
Hi, I?m reading the past topics related to archive and scalability of dovecot, they are all very interesting. Here, I?m using two dovecot proxies in front of five storages pairs, and we split the domain?s accounts among those servers. So, we can share the i/o load and if one server goes down only few accounts of the domain stops (not all of them). But, we began to have space problems - and the

Is there a version of Speex like Fraunhofer MP3 codec?
Hi! I just stumbled onto your project (Speex) and it seems perfect for archiving a radio show I record every night. The thing is, I would like to encode in real-time, rather than having to record the wav and then use the speex encoder to encode it. The radio show runs 5 hours, so a PCM wav would be big to store first and then process with speex (not bad though, except the machine only has a 2GB

Document Management System
Hi all, I was wondering if someone can give me some pointers to a good Document Management System. I've been using Knowledge Tree for a while and just wondering if there is something a bit more robust. I'm archiving technical specs, functional documents, etc...
