[PATCH 1/2] nvc0/ir: avoid infinite recursion when finding first uses of tex
In certain circumstances, findFirstUses could end up doubling back on instructions it had already processed, resulting in an infinite recursion. Avoid this by keeping track of already-visited instructions. [PATCH 2/2] nv50: zero out unbound samplers
Samplers are only defined up to num_samplers, so set all samplers above nr to NULL so that we don't try to read them again later. restricting non-pty cmds with passwd auth
Hi, I'm looking for a way to force users to use a pty and their login shell. They have a .profile that forces them to use a specific application. They are currently logging in with telnetd, so this is effective. I want to move to openssh, but this would allow "ssh user at host /bin/sh" and any other commands they can think of to bypass this restriction. Is there a way to

Understanding why a GAM can't have an intercept
Dear List, I've just tried to specify a GAM without an intercept -- I've got one of the (rare) cases where it is appropriate for E(y) -> 0 as X ->0. Naively running a GAM with the "-1" appended to the formula and the calling "predict.gam", I see that the model isn't behaving as expected. I don't understand why this would be. Google turns up this old

Penalized Splines as BLUPs using lmer?
Dear R-list, I?m trying to use the lmer of the lme4 package to fit a linear mixed model of the form Y = Xb + Zu + e and I can?t figure out how to control the covariance structure of u. I want u ~ N(0,sigma^2*I). More precisely I?m trying to smooth a curve through data using the "Penalized Splines as BLUPs" method as described in Ruppert, Wand & Carroll (2003). So I have Z = [Z1

[PATCH libnbd v2 1/4] examples, tests: Remove want_to_send / ready logic, increase limit on cmds in flight.
Since Eric's improvements to the command queue in commit 6af72b8 (and following) there's now a queue of commands waiting to be issued stored in the handle, and there's no need to issue commands only from the ready state. We can therefore remove the want_to_send logic, queue as many commands as possible, and don't need to test if the socket is ready for POLLOUT. This commit also
