sasl authentication via dovecot
I am setting up a Postfix/Dovecot/Virtual Domains system, with virtual
tables using Postfixadmin and MySQL. Incoming mail is accepted for the
virtual mailboxes, but when I try to retrieve mail from Outlook or
Thunderbird I get errors

dovecot sasl with postfix: SASL LOGIN authentication failed: Connection lost to authentication server
When using dovecot (2.1.5) sasl with postfix (2.8.4) behind nginx smtp
proxy I am seeing a ton of errors of the form:
postfix/smtpd[7731]: warning: unknown[192.168.0.6]: SASL LOGIN
authentication failed: Connection lost to authentication server
Nothing is printed by dovecot in the logs regarding the error. It seems
that dovecot just hung up on postfix. (side note: no, can't use xclient

auto Cc: with dovecot+mysql
hi,
i'm migrating 1 mail-server from LDAP+postfix+courier to
mysql+postfixadmin+dovecot,
on a debian etch machine i have followed this howto :
http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/DovecotLDAPostfixAdminMySQL
(changed uid and gid for usage in debian, the SVN-postfixadmin
didn't work for me, so i used the stable version, and haven't tested the
SASL-part yet)

Postfixadmin/MySQL/Dovecot 2 and quota
Hi all,
I'm setting up a new email server based on the softwares list below:
* Postfix
* Dovecot 2.0.9
* MySQL
* Postfixadmin 2.3.6
My current problem is I'm unsure whether quota feature is well
configured or not.
In order to test and validate, I use Roundcubemail GUI which provides
percentage of the space used by the mailbox (quota should be applied per
mailbox).
Here, my

Configure dovecot to provide SASL authentication
Hi,
I'm trying to get dovecot to provide SASL authentication for
postfix My setup appears to be working but I'm not 100% certain
I've got it right. I've come across several examples for dovecot
version 1 but I'm running 2.0.9. The output of doveconf -n is here :

compact MySQL database structure for storing all configuration? What
will you suggest me guys? I've already installed postfixadmin and I'm

migrating from Courier
I've been running postfix/courier-ssl/MySQL/postfixadmin for years, but since I am in the process of building a new server I decide to reexamine my options. I'm sticking with postfix, but I've decided to move from courier to dovecot because everyone is telling me it's much faster, and I really dislike courier's SASL setup and integration with other services.
Of course, I have

FW: Postfix Dovecot MySQL user/pass authentication:: Password Mismatch
Having some difficulty with this one:
I have Postfix setup, with a web interface for postfixadmin. Both Dovecot
and Postfix are setup to use the same MySQL database to authenticate users.
Only SSL connections are allowed, so I use PLAIN/cleartext as my password
type.
Setting up users works correctly from Postfixadmin, and Dovecot recognizes
the users and their respective directories, however,
