Dsync via dovecot proxy
Hi All, I need to import mailboxes into my Director NFS setup via one of my director proxy's as doing a direct dsync to the backend mailstores appears to giving me NFS locking issues. It looks like it may be possible to do this using doveadm listeners. I have setup doveadm listeners on a test proxy and backend mailstore. I am not sure how to make the dsync proxy through to the backend

dsync mirror does not maintain changes between mailboxes
Hi, running: dsync -D -v -o mail_fsync=never mirror -R -f -u user at domain imapc: Where "domain" is a cyrus imap server does not do what the documentation says it does, not even close. After the first run to an empty mailbox on the dovecot 2.2.13 server all the mails (1.1GB) seem to be correctly synced. I send a test email to the dovecot server and it shows up correctly. Second

Dovecot failing with exit code 19200 in cron job
Hi All, I am synchronizing a few hundred dovecot mailboxes with a perl script via a crontab. ? It works for a while (ie exit status=0)? but the rest then start failing with exit code 19200.?? I tried redirecting STDERR but showed nothing.? I suspect the cron job is hitting some sort of resource limit?? If I run the perl script from the command line it appears to dsync all the accounts OK.?? The

SMTP configuration for director mail cluster
HI All, I have setup my Dovecot director proxies and Dovecot backend mail stores.? I intend setting up several incoming and outgoing Exim MTA's.? I am a bit confused about what I need to run on the backend Dovecot MTA's to get the incoming mail delivered to them.? Do I need to install Exim on them or use LMTP to receive mail from the MTA's?? Also, can I directly deliver mail to the

dsync mirror to mailstores in director setup
Hi All, I have dsync mirror command working between a standalone dovecot server and a backend mailstore in a Dovecot Director setup.?? Is it safe to do the dsync directly to the backend mailstore in this setup? It doesn't seem to work via the director proxy. Thanks Murray

syncing mailboxes with dsync after switchover
Gents, I'm relocating mailboxes to a new server. Before switching over to a new server I ran syncing a few times without any issues first I sync files with rsync from the old server to have a local copy, then I sync mailboxes with dsync /usr/bin/doveadm -Dv sync -u $MBOX -R "sdbox:/srv/vmail/temp/srv/srv.bgoperator.ru/${MBOX}:DIRNAME=DbOx-mAiLs" After switching over smtp

dsync replication issues with shared mailboxes
Gentlemen, I've setup 2 servers with dsync replication and hit a serious issue - some messages got duplicated thousands times in some shared mailboxes(~5). There is actually no reason to replicate anything from shared name space and I've tried to limit replication scope with just 'inbox' name space but it didn't help. dovecot version ||2.2.18 (2de3c7248922) errors in the

Dovecot mailstore performance tuning
HI All, We have a couple of dovecot director proxies and six backed mailstores each accessing mailboxes stored on five NFSv4 filsystems with about 1TB of mail on each in maildir format.? We have about 800 max users on each mailstore at peak times and performance appears to starting to degrade at these times.? The mailstores are pretty recent hardware with 64GB of RAM and 24 cores.?? The NFS

Dsync and compressed mailboxes
Hi, I will begin two migrations next week, and in both cases I plan to use compressed mailboxes with mdbox format. But in the last minute one doubt has appeared: is dsync aware of compressed mailboxes? I'm not sure if dsync -u $USER mirror mdbox:compressed_mdbox_path works, or if I have to use something else (I guess that with a running dovecot dsync backup should work). Thanks.

dsync error: "Mailboxes don't have unique GUIDs"
I'm getting an error backing up mailboxes. dsync multiple mailboxes per connection?
Hello, Is it possible to batch syncs of multiple mailboxes in a single dsync session? We?re transferring users between servers and want to use dsync to transfer the mail; ideally we?d like to avoid creating a separate TCP connection per user. Thank you! cheers, -Felipe Gasper

Dsync deleting mailboxes due to duplicate UIDs
Hi, I am attempting to migrate a mailspool from a cyrus server to a dovecot server using the dsync backup approach as described in the wiki at <https://wiki.dovecot.org/Migration/Dsync>. The first attempt works great. Everything copies over and a quick glance over the spool looks good. Running doveadm backup again though results in the following error: dsync(eggs): Warning: Deleting

dsync full sync
Hi all, I have 2 question. First: I use dovecot (version 2.2.9) with mdbox mail format. When I run dsync tool with "mirror" or "backup" parameters my source and destination directory synchronize correctly but if I delete some messages in user mailbox, deleted messages does not synced to destination. For example : atif at domain.com path is /mail/domain.com/atif/ and its

using dsync to convert mailboxes looses caching options
Hi there, We're trying to convert users from Maildir to sdbox at present; I'm using dsync to achieve this (2.0.16) however when the user's have been converted we only get minimal information in the caching files. Is there some way to preserve all the caching decisions that were previously made so that when the user logs in to the new mailbox we don't have to cause an io storm
