YUM grabbing two architectures
Afternoon all,
Is there any particular reason why yum fetches rpms for two
architectures on almost any update/install I'd like to perform? This
includes both i386 and x86_64. Here's a small excerpt after performing a

pxelinux -> pxeboot load?
Hi all,
I've searched the depths of the resources on the internet; however
I'm having trouble deploying a pxeboot solution via pxelinux. So far
what I have successfully implemented in my infrastructure is a
successful pxeboot setup for FreeBSD ( without the use of pxelinux ).
I'd ultimately like to have a solution that will allow me to choose a
network install of various Unix-like

Dial plan inquiry using GotoIf()
Hi all,
I'm looking for some rudimentary insight on GotoIf() which seems to be
failing on me in my dial plan. All I basically wish to do is block a
particular caller. Sounds easy enough, but my ternary operator/plan
currently is not properly being implemented. Can anyone spot where I'm
being a momo?
All extensions get forwarded to the following macro:

Upgrade from Centos 4.4 to Centos 5
Hi,
Is there a yum way to upgrade from CentOS 4.4 to CentOS 5?
Or I just need to download the installation CDs and upgrade using
them, as I did many times with Fedora.
best regards,

Reputable company for SIP/IAX2 trunking
Hi all,
There's a myriad of options these days and I haven't been keeping up to date
with what's respectable any longer.
I essentially need a provider that will provide me with one DID to start and
let me trunk over SIP or IAX2. I'd like to obviously trunk with Asterisk on
my end and have full control over the dial plan. This way I can branch out
my DID into extensions and have

Looking for PSTN provider with unlimited inbound/outbound plan
Hi all,
I have a budget to work with and was wondering if there are any folks
providing SIP/IAX2 trunking for unlimited inbound/outbound for a flat rate?
We're in the budget range of roughly $5,000 a month and we need multiple
channels per DID.
I'm not sure if something like this is feasible in the world of VoIP -- and
I only need to be able to make domestic/USA calls.
Thanks for any

Upgrading from 4.4 to 5
Hi, I have one centOS 4.4 with apache and some services. I want to
upgrade to version 5 running:
Yum -y -c /etc/yum.repos.d/base_centos upgrade
Where the file bases_centos has:
[base]
name=CentOS-5 - Base
baseurl=ftp://repository.mydomain/centos/5/os/i386
gpgcheck=0
timeout=1800
And, repository.mydomain is a mirror of mirror.centos.org
It began to download all headers until I get this error:

GotoIf Dialplan inquiry
Hi all,
I have the following in my extensions.conf:
exten => s,4,GotoIf($["${CALLERID(number)}" = "8585979857" |
"8585970327"]?15:5)
The numbers listed above are known spammer numbers. However, when I call
from any other CALLERID, it still directs me to s,15 which is the
Hangup() application. Here are logs from the asterisk CLI:

Delay in Dial()
All,
Is there any syntax I can use to put a delay in two lines being dialed?
One is a SIP endpoint, the other is my cell phone. I'd like to have the
SIP phone ring for some arbitrary number of seconds before it is sent
off to the mobile phone. Using something like a Wait() within a Dial()
would be ideal.
Any suggestions?

performing binary upgrade centos 4 to 5
Hello,
I'm trying to take a box from 4.4 to 5.0 and doing it via binary yum
upgrade. I'm following the procedure at:
http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-announce/2007-April/013660.html
for taking a 4.x box to 5. I've removed any unneeded rpms, and confirmed the
state of the system. I downloaded and installed centos-notes-5 and ran an
rpm -Uvh centos-release-5 which

Centos 5.1 distro: How to upgrade 5.0 to 5.1 with yum??
Hi,
Redhat announced RHEL 5.1 on Nov 07, so hopefully
CentOS 5.1 will be ready shortly. But I get kind of
nervous of the arrival of 5.1.
My problem is: I have hundreds Centos 5.0 boxes just
finished installation and I will continue to install
and upgrade hundreds more in next few months. With the
arrival of Centos 5.1, I don't like to reinstall them
anymore but continuous upgrade instead

Upgrade 4.4 to 5.0 (Error in transaction)
Hi!
I'm having a problem upgrading an existing 4.4 installation to 5.0.
- The machine is a x86_64 architecture
- I'm upgrading from a DVD
- I've used the same DVD to sucessfully upgrade another machine
(therefor I'm pretty sure that it is OK)
- The error occurs on both DVD-drives on the machine (therefor I
think its not a problem with a particular DVD-drive)

4.3 to 4.4 and Yum and Upgrade vs. Update
I'm wondering about yum update vs. yum upgrade. The man page says use
upgrade (actually the obsoletes flag which is set in upgrade and not
update) when doing something like a linux 8.0 to linux 9 upgrade.
Something we can't do with CentOS, i.e. 3 to 4. So, is it better to use
update or upgrade when going from 4.3 to 4.4? Doesn't RedHat call these

Yum, duplicate packages, 4.3->4.4 upgrade.
Hi,
I am running a CentOS 4.3 machine. I wish to move on to 4.4.
My problem is that I have some 60 duplicate packages listed
below. The kernel and gpg-pubkey packages are different
versions of the same (none for the gpg) architecture. All the
rest are a x86_64 and i[356]86 pairs.
1. Is this a problem?
2. If yes, what should I do?
a) remove the duplicates (the i[356]86) and then 4.3 ->

cdr_adaptive_odbc and custom rdms fields
Hi folks,
I was recently made aware that the only way to currently set custom fields
in a relational database for CDR is via the experimental cdr_adaptive_odbc
drivers found here:
http://svncommunity.digium.com/view/tilghman/branches/1.4/cdr_adaptive_odbc.c?view=log
I had no problem compiling the driver, and copied the module to
/usr/lib/asterisk/modules on my box and setup

Yum upgrade to 4.4 problem
CentOS 4.3 (SMP, x86_64, Athlon64 X2) with all pre-4.4 release updates
applied.
Since I ran into the Yum issue at the previous upgrade, I first did
yum upgrade to get the list of packages (6 to install, 206 to update).
I then did
yum upgrade yum (which passed without issues)
yum upgrade sqlite (which passed without isseus).
Fairly certain that yum now works correctly, I wanted to just do
