[LLVMdev] use AVX automatically if present

I forgot to mention that I am using recent LLVM-3.1 and in principle my
llc knows about avx as I have shown in the second example. But avx does
not seem to be used by default.

[LLVMdev] use AVX automatically if present
I wonder why AVX is not used automatically if available at the host
machine. In contrast to that, SSE41 instructions (like pmulld) are
automatically used if the host machine supports SSE41.
E.g.
$ cat avx.ll
define void @_fun1(<8 x float>*, <8 x float>*) {
_L1:
%x = load <8 x float>* %0
%y = load <8 x float>* %1
%z = fadd <8 x float> %x, %y
store

[LLVMdev] use AVX automatically if present
Henning,
I believe the code that is supposed to do this is in:
lib/Target/X86/X86Subtarget.cpp in
X86Subtarget::AutoDetectSubtargetFeatures()
Is there a bug in that function?

I read there:
// FIXME: AVX codegen support is not ready.
//if ((ECX >> 28) & 1) { X86SSELevel = AVX; ToggleFeature(X86::FeatureAVX); }

extremely low performance on Samba 4.2.14-Debian
Hi everyone,
here's my problem: I have a fast server (dual Xeon E5-2620, 64 GB RAM)
with a fast RAID array (24 disks, RAID-6, more than 2GB/s read/write
local performance, XFS filesystem) and fast network : dual 10GigE
(myri10g) and 40GigE (i40e).
It's running Debian 8.11, tried various kernel versions (currently
4.4.x, but 4.9 isn't any better).
It's slow as dead snails in

Enterprise Repository Access?
Hello!
I apologize if this has been asked already. (I did search before posting...)
Is it still possible to obtain access to Dovecot's Enterprise
Repository, for Ubuntu and Debian, at no cost?
When last I registered for such access, I recall there being a "mock
product" in the Dovecot Store that provided no-cost access to this
repository.
Any information in this regard is very

any news Enterprise Repository Access?
Hi,
we had access to the repository and it was working fine. But as we cant
get the 2.2.25 update I was looking into the repofolders and there are
RPMs "just" for RHEL 6// but not 5 any more.
My be I missed the latest discussions or announcements? Could you give
me an update on information and may be the RHEL 5 RPMs too?
Thanks a lot and regards . G?tz

[LLVMdev] Non-portable use time command in RunSafely.sh
If you look at http://npt.cc.rsu.ru/testresults-X86-FreeBSD/index.html
then you see that all program test have '*' in run time columns.
I think problem in using plain 'time' command in RunSafely.sh
At FreeBSD 'time <program> <args>' call generate output in format "
0,00 real 0,00 user 0,00 sys"
for *.time files instead expected

[LLVMdev] tblgen for generation of Haskell bindings to LLVM intrinsics
I want to generate Haskell bindings to LLVM intrinsics. In a first attempt I
wrote a little parser that reads IntrinsicsX86.td and outputs a Haskell module.
E.g. the definition
def int_x86_avx_max_ps_256 : GCCBuiltin<"__builtin_ia32_maxps256">,
Intrinsic<[llvm_v8f32_ty], [llvm_v8f32_ty,
llvm_v8f32_ty], [IntrNoMem]>;

How to make the optimizer eliminate `fadd zeroinitializer`?
I have the module:
target triple = "x86_64-pc-linux-gnu"
define void @round(<8 x float>*) {
_L1:
%1 = load <8 x float>, <8 x float>* %0
%2 = fadd <8 x float> %1, zeroinitializer
store <8 x float> %2, <8 x float>* %0
ret void
}
Optimizing it with -O3 does not remove the add with zero. Also options
like -enable-no-infs-fp-math
