dovecot 1.1.beta3 crashes on NetBSD/sparc64 4.0_RC3 with Thunderbird 2.0.0.6
Hi all,
I'm getting core dumps from Dovecot when using Thunderbird as a client.
Everything is fine when using the Apple Mail client. I've appended the
debug dumps to this message so they are out of the way, but they should
be read now.
I think the problem might be that io->prev and io->next aren't reliably
initialised in ioloop.c:io_add. The value that io->prev has when

Authentication problems after update to Samba 2.2.12
Hello,
I've just updated from Samba 2.2.8a to 2.2.12 and now I've regconized
that my user authentication does not work anymore. We have an Active
Directory Domain and I tried the following lines in smb.conf:
security = domain
password server = dc1,dc2
encrypted passwords = yes
With these lines all authentications fail. When I change my configuration to
security = server

Re: Need HELP in upgrading SAMBA 2.2.12 to 3.0.20
You accidentally asked the development list this...
However, the program is quite compatible, and upgrades easily.
If you want to be careful, install the new samba somewhere other
than on your production machine, then run the new version of
testparm on the smb.conf file from your older system. Ask
this list about any errors and warnings (and CC me (:-)).
Then try using the new samba to

Upgrade 2.2.12 -> 3.0.9
Hi All,
I have a modified RH 9 box running as a PDC with roaming profiles and home
shares. We really need to upgrade this system to 3.0.9 PDC with LDAP.
If it all falls apart on the upgrade I'd like to be able to go back to 2.2.12
at the toss of a hat.
Are there any files other than my /usr/local/samba2 directory and the tdb
files that live in /var somewhere.
I have LDAP almost ready to

Inplace upgrade 2.2.12 -> 3.0.7
Hi All!
A feww weeks ago I upgraded one of my customers from 2.2.7a to 2.2.12.
I chose the download and compile for 2.2.12 so that I had full control over
what was going on and where the new version would live. This went very well
until I found missing bits and pieces like smbpasswd etc etc. They live in
new places on 12! I could quite happily swap between the two versions by
killing the smbd

Index corruption with 2.2.12 when moving a message
Just bumped into this today, when I upgraded to a testing package in
Fedora:
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2014-2672/dovecot-2.2.12-1.fc20
For details, see this bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1066709
Haven't seen this kind of thing before. Sure, it worked the second time
I tried to move the message to another folder (I'm guessing index got

mdbox with mail_attachment_dir per user in 2.2.12
Hello,
we have 2 netapp arrays with 2 volumes and we need to store our mail
data in one or other volume for every user.
We want keep data for one user in one volume only.
So we would like to have 2 separate mail_attachment_dir, one on every
volume.
But in latest version 2.2.12 it look like it is only possible to set
one global mail_attachment_dir.
I have an idea with 2 separate dovecot

2.2.12 RPM Needed
Greetings,
I'm not very experienced in building Source RPMs and we're in need of a
Dovecot RPM for version 2.2.12 for CentOS 5. It seems that the ATRPMs
repo maintained by Axel Thimm hasn't seen much activity lately and the
task of updating a source RPM is more than I have time for as a busy
developer who does systems admin on the side.
Could anybody recommend another repo

rmdir() EBUSY warnings on 2.2.12
Hi,
I'm getting a lot of syslog spam on FreeBSD 10 from
nfs_flush_file_handle_cache_dir where, apparently it tries to rmdir()
the mountpoint of my mail storage.

2.2.12 large file support (> 4 GB)
Hey folks,
I've seen questions similar to this asked in the archives, but didn't really
find a suitable answer.
I'm trying to send backups to a Windows2000 share, and I'm having trouble
with large files:
[root@mail backups]# cp -R 20050208/ /mnt/backup/
File size limit exceeded
It only copies 2,147,483,647 bytes, and the file is 5,030,998,091. I could

Samba 2.2.12 Hardware Migration Policy Issue Win2K
Hello All,
I had been successfully running Samba 2.2.8a on a FreeBSD 4.7
box for a couple years using roaming profiles. The box was
functioning as PDC. The hardware was getting old; I needed to
migrate to a new server. So, I built a FreeBSD 5.3-RELEASE box
on some relatively modern hardware and installed Samba 2.2.12. I
copied the master.passwd file to the new box, did the pwd_mkdb,
also copied

FW: Samba 2.2.12. Problem with printer properties feature box after switching to SP2 client
I use Samba 2.2.12 like print server and all were fine until some XP clients
start upgrade to SP2.
The "feature box" (see attached feature2.jpg) is absent on SP2 clients (see
attached feature1.jpg) but still present for 2K, XP, XP-SP1 clients.
Other things look well with SP2 but I guess that absence of this "feature
box" probably hide some other problems.
How can I fix it?
