I am using pop3/imap, see the below file. We can't verify any logs? This is
working fine from last one year. as part of testing we just stopped the
services for 20minutes and restarted the dovecot and postfix server using
"service <dovecot/postfix> stop/start". No issues so far...
I would like know, if the application is reading the emails from the
server, do we have any log

DKIM Verification failures
Hi,
-- This message refers to the maillist itself rather than to dovecot

I have noticed that when I post to this list (only), I get DKIM
Verification failure reports from:

A general broad mailing list whitelist will be problematic, do work it
needs to look for specific list type hidden headers, spammers and
nasties will incorporate those headers into their trash that

Urgent - Help needed
Hi Benny and Dovecot,
Thanks for the reply.
Actually my question is, is it possible to verify anything now whether the
email has been pulled by application/server from the "Maildir/new" or
"Maildir/cur" folder in my POP3 server? at present I am not using lmtp yet.
When I configured the outlook to access the one of the email box in the
server, I get the email. But do we have

Can?t dovecot authenticate against imap?
What I need is to make smtp authentication balanced and keep everything in backend (private network)

postfix sasl -> haproxy -> dovecot auth
I don?t want to allow public network facing servers to be able to reach passwords database. And I want to segregate roles of the servers.
If I will setup dovecot locally I will still have to provide it access to database (eg. /etc/dovecot/dovecot-sql.conf.ext).

Root has been aliased for decades. This has no impact on where and how mutt stores the mail it sends as root out of root?s crontab.

Thanks Benny. I should've said I saw AllowNets but in researching it looked like it expected a smaller comma separated list, not hundreds of IP blocks. Is that what you are using to accomplish this?
Thanks,

procmail as a content_filter with dovecot
I am using Mac OS X Server. OS X Server uses postfix with dovecot set as mail_transport.
I want to add procmail to the mix. I cannot use the (typical)
mailbox_command = procmail -a "$EXTENSION"
because
mailbox_transport = dovecot
overrides any mailbox_command parameter and it is NOT Possible to change, remove, or otherwise vary the
mailbox_transport on OS X server.

How to make IMAPS SSL Cert for Dovecot that works with Thunderbird
Hello Aki and all,
The below lines are in the dovecot config file. This seems to be the
same as Aki's suggestion. correct? I have also double checked file
perms, tried with several new key gens, several versions of thunderbird
and created completely new thunderbird profiles.
Thank you,

I will install cyrus-sasl and see how it goes.
Anyway, it would be nice to have same features (authentication agains imap) in dovecot.
