mdbox and doveadm purge
Hi, We are currently testing Dovecot 2.0.13 with mdbox. If I delete large objects with refcount=0 the index is not updated apparently. Here's an example: [root at mail-004 storage]# ls -l total 194776 -rw------- 1 vmail vmail 482960 Jul 9 14:58 dovecot.map.index -rw------- 1 vmail vmail 4584 Jul 9 16:06 dovecot.map.index.log -rw------- 1 vmail vmail 32856 Jul 9 14:50

[whishlist] new option for 'doveadm purge'
Hi, I do store mail in mdbox format of 150m in size (dovecot 2.3.9). Once in a while I do experience mdbox files of smaller size, even after applying 'doveadm purge' and previous expunges by the users. like: -rw------- 1 vmail dovecot 104854595 Feb 9 2019 /var/mail/.maildirs/userX/storage/m.22 -rw------- 1 vmail dovecot 29088478 Mar 8 2019

doveadm -A operations failing due to broken mdbox
I'm using "/usr/bin/doveadm purge -A" to purge the mdboxes of my users. Unfortunately this command terminates prematurely once it reaches a defective mdbox! Is there a workaround for this? Like using doveadm to get a list of valid users and then run "doveadm purge -u" on each of those? -- [*] sys4 AG http://sys4.de, +49 (89) 30 90 46 64 Franziskanerstra?e 15, 81669

Dovecot 2.1.16 doveadm purge -A segfault
Hi, I know that a lot of work has been done regarding doveadm server, but I'm still experiencing easily reproducible segfault crashes of doveadm-server with 2.1.16 when running the following command in a 4 node director/mailbox cluster: /usr/bin/doveadm -c /etc/dovecot-director/dovecot-director.conf -D purge -A The dovecot-error.log shows the following errors (addresses anonymized): Apr

Performance problems while running doveadm purge
I have a rather large and active mdbox (28 GB, 3M mess, 1200 deliveries/day). I usually have no problems working with those mails, and there is some batch processing going on (via doveadm). Every few weeks I try my luck running doveadm purge, and this a) crunches about 5GB (to be expected), b) takes rather long (ok), c) leads to long stretches of blocked mdbox, which is the problem. I always

Dovecot 2.2.31 with mailboxes in mdbox format. doveadm purge on shared storage
We've finally (!) started to put some users on mdbox instead of maildir, and now I'm wondering about the purge step. As we're running GPFS for the mailboxes (and dovecot director in front of every dovecot service), is it important to run the "doveadm purge -u $user" on the same host as $user is logged into to avoid index corruption ? If so, will we need to run the

mdbox "doveadm purge" strategy
Hi there. I am using mdbox storage with great success but I am seeing something I find strange and I would like to compare notes with you. When doing "doveadm purge", "m.*" files with non deleted messages are left alone, but "m.*" files with deleted messages copy the "non deleted" messages to a newly created "m.*" file and delete the original.

doveadm purge -A via doveadm-proxy director fails after some users
Hi, we have configured userdb and passdb in the director and try to iterate all users and pass the "purge" command via doveadm proxy to port 19000 on the correct director backend host. A single purge -u username at example.org via doveadm-proxy works correctly, but iterating over some users with -A fails. Note: users/domains have been anonymized in output:
