dovecot-virtual folder configuration
Hi all,
Long story short, I'd like to configure a folder containing:
INBOX
(some other folders)
-> unseen emails from these folders + all other emails (also seen) from
the same thread
-> seen emails from these folders, but only the recent ones + all other
emails from the same thread
I tried:
# inthread refs (or (or recent unseen) recent )
inthread refs unseen
# inthread

Coredump using virtual folder.
Hi,
I'm using dovecot 1.2rc2 and I have the following issues with the virtual
folder:
1. The virtual folders are flagged with \Noselect and at least thunderbird
does not offer to select them. Adding them to the subscriptions file works
fine and the folder can be used after that.
2. Two basic virtual work just fine like:
$ cat virtual/all/dovecot-virtual
INBOX
INBOX.Ordner.work.archive.*

2.1.rc1 (056934abd2ef): virtual plugin mailbox search pattern
Hello Timo,
With dovecot 2.1.rc1 (056934abd2ef) there seems to be something wrong
with virtual plugin mailbox search patterns.
I'm using a virtual mailbox 'unread' with the following dovecot-virtual file
$ cat dovecot-virtual
*
unseen
For testing propose I created the following folders with each containing
one unread message
INBOX, INBOX/level1 and INBOX/level1/level2

Virtual Folder configuration problem. [FIXED]
Well, it took a ton of time and research, but I finally have a working
Unread virtual mailbox on Dovecot 2.x on Centos 6.0. I have no idea if
it's optimal or correct, but it works perfectly and doesn't raise any
errors or warnings.
Here's what I ended up with:
dovecot.conf: Add the following:
mail_plugins = $mail_plugins virtual
namespace {
type = private
prefix =

dovecot crash with virtual folders (debian testing version 2.2.13-11)
The virtual folder triggering the crash has the configuration
namespace {
prefix = virtual/
separator = /
location = virtual:~/Maildir/virtual
}
And the actual virtual/openstack/dovecot-virtual file is
Lists/openstack-dev
inthread refs or from "james bottomley" keyword thread
It's a standard search for threads I've either replied to or marked with

Segfault when deselecting virtual folder 2.2.13+ HG TIP
Hello,
I'm seeing a segfault in the imap process with the current mercurial tip
(including changeset 17382 e99cd21e1f92) when selecting a particular
virtual mail folder (but no other virtual mailboxes) and then selecting
a different mail folder as in the IMAP transcript below. The same
segfaults are triggered with IMAP clients. The situation is worse with
the 2.2.13 which segfaults when

Virtual Folder configuration problem.
I'm attempting to create a virtual inbox that contains all unread
messages from the user's Maildir.
I created a conf file called 80-virtual.conf containing:
mail_plugins = $mail_plugins virtual
namespace {
prefix = virtual/
separator = /
location = virtual:~/Maildir/virtual
}
And created the
/home/username/Maildir/virtual/unseen/dovecot-virtual file which contains:

Debian Wheezy-Backports - Dovecot (1:2.2.9-1~bpo70+1) missing xz compression support?
Hallo Everyone,
since some days a new dovecot version is available in Debian
"wheezy-backports": (1:2.2.9-1~bpo70+1) wheezy-backports
As described in http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Plugins/Zlib and
http://www.dovecot.org/doc/NEWS-2.2 "xz"-compression is available since
Dovecot version 2.2.9.
Today I tried to convert my mailboxes with the new xz compression.
Therfore I changed

2.2.33.2 - Virtual Mailbox Issue bug maybe ?
So virtual/combined was meant to combine INBOX/Sent/Drafts and
virtual/all display them in a threaded manner .. at least that was the
intention ...

How to limit Apple Mail (desktop)?

When dovecot receives many full body downloads from a client, it could respond by sending the header only.

folder in dovecot
Hello,
I'm quite new to dovecot, and I have some questions about folders.
At the moment I've a script that use fetchmail + procmail to get mail from
the isp, and save the mail in different folder. The idea is to save mail
from different mailing list in different folder.
Now I've installed dovecot so i can read mail from different computers, and i
want to export all the folders. I

Retrieving unread message count
Timo,
I'm working with a webmail client that periodically polls unread message
counts for a list of folders. It currently does this by doing a LIST or LSUB
and then iterating across all of the folders, running a SEARCH ALL UNSEEN,
and counting the resulting UID list.
Eventually I'd like to see it using RFC5819 LIST-EXTENDED, but that requires
a fair bit of work. In the mean time I'm

icedove update
Something came up that Confounded problems in my move from UW-imap to
dovecot. I found a problem with the new icedove update in Debian lenny
when moving from 1.5.0.13+1.5.0.14b.dfsg1-0etch1 to 2.0.0.9-3 that could
look like a dovecot issue. Icedove runs for a while but eventually quits
updating the displayed email, yet appears to be working and busy trying
to get messages from the server. I
