Virtual Mailboxes
My next bonehead maneuver - was more of the first! location = virtual:/var/mail/%%d/%%n/mdbox/mailboxes/virtual was adapted from my definition for my shared namespace. Which was intended to share OTHER users - which is why the '%%' prefixes are used. Changing to: location = virtual:/var/mail/%d/%n/mdbox/mailboxes/virtual Now I can actually view something! But I still have a

The first bonehead maneuver seems to be: location = virtual:/var/mail/%%d/%%n/mdbox/virtual I'm thinking it should be: location = virtual:/var/mail/%%d/%%n/mdbox/mailboxes/virtual But...it didn't seem to make a difference. And if I have the "virtual" folder tree under a location other than "/var/mail/domain/user/mdbox/mailboxes" no names appear - so I think I

mdbox corruption
Trying to clean up the last of the corruption caused by my own stupidity. I now have two mailboxes for one user that give errors such as: doveadm(fax at amfes.com): Error: zlib.read(/var/mail/amfes.com/fax/mdbox/storage/m.9): gz trailer has wrong CRC value at 20065618 doveadm(fax at amfes.com): Error: read(/var/mail/amfes.com/fax/mdbox/storage/m.9) failed: Invalid argument (uid=238)

fts crash
I've completed my mailbox rebuild - theoretically I should be free of corruption. I used dsync to export from mdbox to maildir (so should be clean) then used a virtual machine with Dovecot to import back to mdbox in another location. So...theoretically I should be free of all corruption now... Running an fts update - "doveadm search text -u user at domain.com xyzzyx" works on

Updating Solr - was Disk space usage with mdbox
So with "fts_autoindex=yes" enabled in plugins, is there anything I should be running regularly, other than the expunge/purge, to ensure Solr indexes are updated? I have a daily Solr optimize, and Solr autocommit enabled. I have an hourly "doveadm index -A *" command - is that unneeded? -- Daniel On 4/12/2015 6:53 AM, Timo Sirainen wrote: > On 10 Apr 2015, at 21:55,

Hi Are you using the latest git version ? WHich part exactly of your logs relates to "virtual folders do not work" ? On 2019-06-05 13:08, Daniel Miller via dovecot wrote: > Logs: > > Jun 5 06:02:25 bubba dovecot: imap(dmiller at amfes.com)<25877><IjkkJZOKPvKsOk9d>: Opening DB (RO)

Shared Mailboxes with Multiple Domains
Trying to track down a problem I've been dealing with for a while. Everything else works fine - the problem is with shared mailboxes. My present, and desired, prefix for the shared namespace is: prefix = INBOX/shared/%%d/%%n/ Some mail clients, particularly Thunderbird and Android's AquaMail, have no problem with this. But other (presumably broken) clients don't show the shared

Yes, latest git version. The logs show (as I read them) returned results - yet nothing shows in the client. The logs look the same (with different numbers) when querying "regular" folders - but results are shown in clients. -- Daniel On June 6, 2019 12:16:08 AM Joan Moreau <jom at grosjo.net> wrote: > Hi > Are you using the latest git version ? > WHich part exactly

Solr 6.4.1
I've been running Solr for a while (4.10.3) - wanted to make the jump to the latest & greatest. I installed 6.4.1, copied over my schema.xml - and after a couple false starts where I needed to tweak it work with the new version...it works! I did not copy the database, started from scratch, and executed a "doveadm fts rescan -A". But... Judging solely from at least one

Having some trouble with my first attempt at virtual mailboxes. ?I've enabled the plugin in 10-mail.conf, added a virtual namespace, and created the dovecot-virtual files in the folders. I see the folder names in the list when I refresh the folders available for subscription - but the folders cannot be subscribed to and I can't view their contents. ?What obvious mistake did I make?

Solr 6.4.1 config
Since I was recently asked off-list - thought I'd make this available if it will help anyone else. Attached is my (I hope) working 6.4.1 config. Also some instructions: First, you have to decide if you're running in standalone or cloud mode. Standalone is simpler, but I seem to be having better luck running in cloud mode - even though I'm only using a single

Why things happen is one of the great mysteries and joys of being a sysadmin... As for cleaning up SIS, I believe the "doveadm purge" command takes care of it. I have a daily cronjob which includes: #!/bin/sh # Permanently expunge old Trash doveadm expunge -A mailbox Trash savedbefore 2w # Optimize mdbox storage doveadm purge -A # Update fts indexes doveadm fts rescan -A -- Daniel
