dovecot1.2 segfault
I've tried 2 builds of dovecot, based on a amd64 rebuild of the
experimental package on http://xi.rename-it.nl/debian/
I've tried to include as much useful info as possible, sorry if I've
missed out anything of use. Let me know as I'm more then happy to
assist in any way possible.

Auth process sometimes stop responding after upgrade
Some more information: the issue has just occurred, again on an instance without the
"service_count = 0" configuration directive on pop3-login.
I've observed that while the issue is occurring, the director process goes 100% CPU. I've
straced the process. It is seemingly looping:

epoll_ctl(13, EPOLL_CTL_ADD, 78, {EPOLLIN|EPOLLPRI|EPOLLERR|EPOLLHUP,

Issue with a bug with imap-login
Hello,
Currently working on migrating our existing directors from 2.1.13 to
2.2.10. In 2.2.10 when issuing the logout command on an unauthenticated
connection, the connection is closed before the server sends the BYE
line to the client. The new version works as expected with a non-secure
connection. I will include the strace output from the imap-login process
that shows the connection closing

dovecot auth using 100% CPU
What do you see in the logs?
My guess is that someone is trying a brute force auth against you,

dovecot auth using 100% CPU
Every few days I find that dovecot auth is using all my CPU.
This is from dovecot 2.2.13, I've just upgraded to 2.2.18

Dovecot extremely slow!
Please help,
Dovecot is running extremely slow for the last couple of weeks and it
seems to be getting worse (or my patience running short).
I attach the 10-master configuration and the log file after running
strace according to: http://wiki.dovecot.org/Debugging/ProcessTracing
I can click on an email and wait for a minute or more before receiving a
connection dropped or no error at all. I

director stuck in inifite loop on 2.2.35
Occasionally, all of our directors get stuck in an endless loop. Likely triggered by some network event, but I haven't been able to isolate exactly what triggers it, and am unable to reproduce at the moment. When this happens, it makes the dovecot/director process on all directors unresponsive, making login impossible.
Restarting dovecot "fixes" it.

2.0.14 doveadm proxy list segfault
Hi Timo,
Periodic segfaults with doveadm proxy list:
root at director1:~) doveadm proxy list
doveadm(root): Error: LIST failed: Disconnected
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
Sometimes it's just the 'LIST failed' error, other times it's the error with
the segfault. Usually the first attempt to call it works, subsequent attempts
fail.
I've attached a strace log of it in

[PATCH libnbd v2 1/4] examples, tests: Remove want_to_send / ready logic, increase limit on cmds in flight.
Since Eric's improvements to the command queue in commit 6af72b8 (and
following) there's now a queue of commands waiting to be issued stored
in the handle, and there's no need to issue commands only from the
ready state. We can therefore remove the want_to_send logic, queue as
many commands as possible, and don't need to test if the socket is
ready for POLLOUT.

sudo issues after upgrading to samba/winbind 4.0.13 on Debian Wheezy
Hi
I have upgraded from samba 3.6.19 to samba 4.0.13 on Debian Wheezy
64-bit with Samba 4.0.13 from wheezy-backports. I use winbind to
authenticate against a two-server AD domain on Server 2012 functional
level and forced LDAPS.
After upgrading from 3.6.19 to 4.0.13 everything still works for me as
usual. That is samba shares authentication, all things relying on the
keytab, SSO logins with SSH

/usr/lib/dovecot/imap ignores log settings?
Hi Dovecot peeps,
I'm enjoying running /usr/lib/dovecot/imap directly as a PREAUTH IMAP pipe.
I find that it outputs log messages whose severity is INFO to stdout. I'm
running it as follows:
/usr/lib/dovecot/imap -c /tmp/dovecot.conf
and I see the following messages output to stdout:
* PREAUTH [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE

SSSD and usermod
Hi!
How to get usermod working with SSSD/389DS ?
We have SSSD set up on our server and it uses 389DS.
SSSD was enabled with the following command:
authconfig --enablesssd --enablesssdauth --ldapbasedn=dc=example,dc=com
--enableshadow --enablemkhomedir --enablelocauthorize --update
Running for example "usermod -L username" returns:
usermod: user 'username' does not exist in

[nbdkit PATCH] Experiment: nbd: Use ppoll() instead of pipe-to-self
It is necessary to kick the state machine any time another thread
blocks due to write() encountering a full buffer, to get the reader
thread to learn that it must now poll on POLLOUT rather than just
POLLIN. POSIX only provides two ways to do this: either poll() on a
second fd (our pipe-to-self trick), or interrupt the polling with
EINTR due to delivery of a signal. So, I played with the latter
