RFC 5267 Contexts for IMAP4 PARTIAL results
Hello,
I am looking at PARTIAL responses using a dovecot version 2.2.5 and am running
into an inconsistency with the RFC which I would like to ask about. The following
section
http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5267#section-4.4
lists client requests and server responses which I have tried running against a folder,
specifying the ranges that fit the contents of the folder I have selected.

Question about IMAP IDLE (and Palm Pre)
Hello,
i try to understand, how it works (IDLE).
Try to get it successfully work with my new Palm Pre ;-)
which looks like to have a lot issues wir imap... so i'll blame not dovecot
for the issues.
Sent a mail, from googlemail.
processed by dovecot ad 12:11.
what me now confusing, is, that there in the out-log is nothing visible,
I expected, to see there was sent an notification, there was

CONTEXT=SORT
Any reason this is not listed in the CAPABILITY string?
I see it listed as a TODO here: http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Roadmap
But it seems to work fine (as of 2.2.12):
1 UID SORT RETURN (CONTEXT COUNT) (SUBJECT) UTF-8 UNDELETED
* ESEARCH (TAG "1") UID COUNT 12
1 OK Sort completed (0.000 secs).
2 UID SORT RETURN (UPDATE COUNT) (SUBJECT) UTF-8 UNDELETED
* ESEARCH (TAG "2") UID

permanent flags (are very permanent)
Hello,
first of all i am not sure wheter this is a correct behavior according to the RFC or not...
Problem is, when i set a new custom permanent flag (e.g. testflag) and remove it afterwards, the flag still stays in the list of the permanent flags of this drawer even if there are no messages left with this flag set.
So the keyword list gets "polluted" with unused flags.

Has anyone managed to reproduce this (using my transcript for example)?
With mutt, I get this problem.. If I set 'imap_pipeline_depth=0' in
.muttrc, I can't seem to reproduce it anymore.

Clients can't retrieve new emails
In a formerly working environment suddenly clients aren't notified of
new emails and can't retrieve new emails. Server is Ubuntu 11.04 dovecot
1.2.15. Clients which fail are a Pre2 webOS 2.1 and TouchPad webOS 3.0
(those are OS versions, I don't know which particular flavor/version the
IMAP clients are); there is also a Thunderbird 3.1.11 client on the same
system as the server which

My Dsync isn't replicating 'EXPUNGE' IMAP command
Hi!
I have two Dovecot-2.2.13 servers with Dsync Replication: server1 and
server2.
When I execute 'EXPUNGE' on server1 side, the messages with FLAG
\Deleted are expunged only on server1. The message is still present in
Server2.
Could someone give me a hint reason for this ?
Thanks in advance!

Race condition when setting flags (\Deleted) + expunge quickly, leaving mails not deleted
Hello.
I seem to have found a race condition, when setting flags on multiple emails
rapidly. 5 commands including login to reproduce. Problem found using mutt in
real world usage.
Seems to happen both with UID STORE 1:3 and UID STORE 1,2,3 ..
I have tried with the following packages, with a minimized config in a
throwaway vm:
