Using dsync to backup my users' mailboxes (dovecot 2.2.10 on both sides), I sometimes encounter the following issue.

dsync - Panic: file mail-index-transaction-update.c: line 19
Hi,
we have started to switch our users mails from mbox to maildir and see
for some users panics.
May be someone has a hint on whats causing that and how to fix it?
It's dovecot 2.2.10 on Redhat.

Just before I found the expunge bug in index, I was trying to fix the
new-dir-only syncing because the code looked wrong. Then I

Doveadm protocol; dovecot v2.2.10
Hi there,
Just wondering what is considered current best practice for managing dovecot?
The options I see are:
Doveadm binary
Doveadm protocol via socket
Doveadm http protocol
I?m currently on v2.2.10 and it appears the doveadm protocol command set is limited to just the ?mailbox? commands and the http protocol hasn?t been implemented.
Is the doveadm http protocol still experimental in v2.3.2?

I appear to have taken a mostly-working installation and mucked it up.
In my recent messages I mentioned how I was having difficuilty in making
my wife's email readable in Squirrelmail; this was solved with directory
permissions. However, my usual email client is Thunderbird; I was

gzip compression throttles system?
I just had a quick play with gzip compression on a filesystem and the
result was the machine grinding to a halt while copying some large
(.wav) files to it from another filesystem in the same pool.
The system became very unresponsive, taking several seconds to echo
keystrokes. The box is a maxed out AMD QuadFX, so it should have plenty
of grunt for this.
Comments?
