2.0.12 ipwd.c does not compile under solaris
the new src/lib/ipwd.c introduced in 2.0.12 no longer compiles on solaris. Under solaris, the *_r routines doesn't pass in result as the last parameter and return errno - it just returns result. obviously a job for configure..... -- Roger Fujii<rmf at lookhere.com>

OOM in Dovecot 2.2.13 imap
Hi, we run Dovecot 2.2.13 on Debian Wheezy with a couple thousand mailboxes. We have two users that repeatedly trigger an OOM condition with IMAP. Solaris 10 Compilation Issue with 2.0.12 (actually post 12690) [WORKAROUND PROVIDED]
Greetings, Post 12689:7f5735ab7c35 / 12690:02829f7f79c7 dovecot uses the reentrant version of get(password/group)* related functions. There are two variants of these functions on Solaris. To get the variant used by dovecot code based you need to define _POSIX_PTHREAD_SEMANTICS (see attached manual page). Initially I defined this just for the compilation of lib/src/ipwd.c, and got the code to

BUG in RC10 deliver using mbox format
After recently adding the -f parameter to the call to the deliver command which is called by Postfix, I found that e-mail with a null return path (MAIL FROM:<>) was causing Dovecot deliver to SEGFAULT. I verified this by making this patch to deliver.c (notice I fixed a typo here, too): *** deliver.c.orig Fri Oct 13 07:32:28 2006 --- deliver.c Fri Oct 27 21:26:08 2006 ***************

A couple of dovecot issues I've noted recently...
Timo et al., I haven't been reading the list in a while, but wanted to report back that we've transitioned to dovecot 1.0.15 and things look to be working very nicely. The platform is Solaris "Nevada" running on x86. I have been saving up a couple of issues to bring to your attention. On our server, we gather all core files, and so we get a good taste of the different things

Possible mdbox corruption
I thought I had cleared out the corruption I had before - perhaps I was mistaken. What steps should I take to help locate these issues? Currently using 2.1rc1. I see the following errors in my logs, including out of memory and message size issues (at 15:30): Jan 4 05:17:17 bubba dovecot: indexer-worker(user1 at domain.com): Error: Raw backtrace:

auth-worker goes wild
dovecot-2.2.13 running on Solaris-10, app 5000 concurrent connections, and a pretty standard config where passdb is set up with driver = pam. We have had some situations where an auth-worker gets into a loop, the load on the server rises and the auth-master seems blocked untill finally no new imap nor pop session are accepted. A 'doveadm reload' restores normal operations. With debug

auth service: out of memory
Hi, I have some out of memory errors in my logs (file errors.txt attached) I'm using dovecot 2.0.19, I can see some memory leaks fix in hg after the 2.0.19 release but they seem related to imap-login service, I attached my config too, is something wrong there? Should I really increase the limit based on my settings? Can these commits fix the reported leak?

lmtp memory usage problem - Fatal: pool_system_realloc(268435456): Out of memory
Hi. In my setup exim delivers mails to dovecot using LMTP. In one LMTP session exim can deliver up to 200 recipients (batch_max set to that value). Now the problem is that sometimes 256MB is not enoug for dovecot lmtp to handle incoming emails. My questions: - how big memory limit should be for lmtp? I was thinking that lmtp (more or less) simply reads from one descriptor and writes to file,

Dovecot v2.0.12 OpenBSD - getpwuid() error
Hi! I've upgraded from 2.0.11 to 2.0.12. I've experienced errors during delivery with dovecot-lda. The error log attached contains the errors. Since then I had to downgrade to 2.0.11, to make it work again. When starting 2.0.12, it couldn't chown() the files under /var/dovecot (eg.: dict) to the user specified in the configuration file. Configuration: # doveconf -n # 2.0.11:
