INBOX subfolders not showing up
Hi, I have a problem with INBOX subfolders and subscriptions which I can't solve... Maybe somebody has seen this, too... I can create regular subfolders (not in INBOX) and (un-)subscribe to them with Thunderbird. If I create subfolders in the INBOX with TB this seems to work now in v31 (just found this out), but with v24.6 neither INBOX subfolder creation nor subscriptions worked. When

ITERINDEX not showing subfolders.
# 2.3.4.1 (f79e8e7e4): /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf Hello, we're using mail on NFS and the indexes on localdisk, with a director setup. (18K+ users) now to get more performance i thought to use the ITERINDEX option. however this has the side-effect on some mailboxes that it doesn't show the subfolders under INBOX. they seem 'disappeared'. Removing the ITERINDEX option fixes this

Subfolders with Thunderbird and maildir?
I setup a test dovecot-1.0-0.beta8.2.fc5 and left most of the settings as the defaults. In Thunderbird 1.5.0.8 Windows, when I tried to create a subfolder named "subfolder" under INBOX, it showed up as the same level a INBOX and with the name "INBOX^subfolder". I was able to manually create a subfolder using "mkdir ~/mail/test_manual_subfolder; touch

Creating IMAP folders/subfolders with Thunderbird
Hi, I have dovecot-2.2.15 on fedora21 with Thunderbird and having some difficulty creating subfolders and deleting folders. Creating subfolders results in a folder at the root with a caret instead of a slash called folder^subfolder with an entry in .subscriptions with that name, instead of a new folder under the directory. I'm also unable to delete any folders. The command from within

Apple Mail and subfolders
Hi all, does anybody here use MacOS (Catalina) Mail, who can confirm that subfolders (i.e. folders inside folders) work for them? It seems that I cannot create/access Maildir subfolders at all. Subfolders created in Mail show up as '.folder\2esubfolder' on disk, suggesting that Apple Mail is URL-coding the dot separator before it passes it onto Dovecot. No such translation takes place

Pigeonhole Sieve Extprograms Plugin
Hi, I upgraded to Dovecot 2.2.9 from Debian's wheezy-backports today (which should contain the "sieve_extprograms" plugin and thus also the vnd.dovecot.{pipe,filter,execute} capabilities. However when I add require "vnd.dovecot.filter"; to my sieve script via managesieve, the server reports error: require command: unknown Sieve capability: 'vnd.dovecot.filter'

doveadm import with subfolder oddity
This has got to be something weird in my config. And the standard disclaimer of '"happy to post doveconf -n, but wanted to see if this is normal first" :) Background: Ubuntu Xenial, running 2.2.36. Mailbox type is mdbox and I've got a period separator in my inbox namespace: namespace { hidden = no inbox = yes list = yes location = mailbox Spam { auto = no

Subfolders problem
I have moved from dovecot 1.x to 2.x and I have big problem with subfolders. When I'm moving subfolder with other subfolders is moving only main subfolder, without subfolders, example : mail-storage-1 /var/vmail/home/adamskitest/mdbox/mailboxes # find | egrep -e "janusz|jarek" ./jarek ./jarek/dbox-Mails ./jarek/dbox-Mails/dovecot.index.log ./jarek/jarek2 ./jarek/jarek2/dbox-Mails

special_use folders still created
dovecot-2.2.36-3.el7.x86_64 The below configuration seems to work for Thunderbird and emclient, when moving a message to Junk. Emclient uses "Junk E-mail" and Thunderbird uses "Junk". On the server is only the file .Junk created as expected. When I move a message to Archive in Thunderbird. On the server the files .Archives and .Archives.2018 are created (Thunderbird

ACL plugin: k permission and sub-subfolders
Hi, I'm trying to disallow the creating of subfolders for some special folder for all users. Using ACL plugin for this seems to work at first glance but is not a full solution or is buggy as it allows the creation of sub-subfolders. I'm using the following ACL and namespace separator is "/": $ cat folder owner lrwstie Note: no "k" permission ("k" =

How to see folders/subfolders/emails through imap
Hello all, I am trying to do something very simple - at least thats what I thought. I have some fs, it contains folders and subfolders with email files ordered like maildir. Now I try to set up dovecot on top simply to let some imap account watch these email files. But I cannot see any folders at all. I can create new folders and see them, but I cannot create subfolders as subdirs like

header-lines of subfolders have to be rescanned after each client startup
Hi all, after each startup of my different mail clients (thunderbird, outlook, ...) the contents of subfolders if I click in has to be renewed. This takes some time for large folders. I just migrated from courier. And there all subfolders were available immediately. Is there something to configure? Another effect regarding subfolders is that the client forgets, which subfolders were opened

How Dovecot 2 create folders and subfolders ( MBOX format ) with TB ?
Hello When creating new IMAP folder with thunderbird and Dovecot configured with the std MBOX format dovecot create a file in mbox format and so it is not possible to create a subfolder of this folder. IMAP Folder Mail Separator
Hi, I have a fedora21 install with dovecot-2.2.18, and when creating a new subfolder with thunderbird, the actual folder name is "Folder1^Folder2" with a carat as a separator, instead of creating Folder2 in the Folder1 directory. Is this a thunderbird problem? I don't recall having this problem prior to upgrading to fedora21, so thought maybe it's a dovecot problem. Maybe the

Thunderbird IMAP woes
Hi, I'm a new dovecot user. We've actually just migrated our email system from Courier-IMAP to Dovecot (2.0 rc5) cause we were choking on IO and resources, and dovecot's cache and indexing really seems to help, not to mention the awesome amount of options, tweaks, and extra features, so far, I'm lovin' it. However, we're having a few issues with Thunderbird and I
