libexecdir and localstatedir problem
Hello, I'd really like to define the finale libexecdir and localstatedir through the configure-script. But the Makefiles are rewriting them. Not $libexecdir is used, but $pkglibexecdir. And $pkglibexecdir is always defined as $libexecdir/dovecot. But I don't want this trailing "/dovecot". Same with localstatedir. I want dovecot to use a certain path. But to this path, a

debian lintian warn: hardening-no-fortify-functions

glusterd2 problem
Hi Dmitry, How many nodes does the cluster have ? If the quorum is lost (majority of nodes are down), additional recovery steps are necessary to bring it back up: https://github.com/gluster/glusterd2/wiki/Recovery On Wed, Apr 4, 2018 at 11:08 AM, Dmitry Melekhov <dm at belkam.com> wrote: > Hello! > > Installed packages from SIG on centos7 , > > at first start it works,

base_dir= problems
Hi I first let base_dir = with it's default value of /var/dovecot. I changed my mind and now I have doveconf -n # 2.1.17: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: OpenBSD 5.4 amd64 ffs base_dir = /var/run/dovecot/ After a few days, imap clients couldn't login. Here the problem Dec 04 17:03:16 imap-login: Fatal: Corrupted SSL parameters file: /var/dovecot/ssl-parameters.dat Dec 04 17:03:16

Correct permissions for base_dir??
I am having problems with dovecot regarding base_dir: I have :: base_dir = /opt/dovecot2/var/run/ For some reason, I have to set permissions to(chmod -R 1777 /opt/dovecot2/var/) for dovecot to run properly, but when I start dovecot, I see this: [root at gw] /opt/dovecot2/etc/dovecot# less /var/log/dovecot/dovecot.log Oct 21 16:15:27 master: Warning: Killed with signal 15 (by pid=72634 uid=0

Virusscanning
Hello list, I use currently a non-dovecot pop3 proxy which has the ability to scan all passing mails for viruses. And I like dovecot. I have to combine both. One (and the only) idea is to call a virusscanner a shellscript, installed as PostLoginScript. But I see multiple disadvantages: 1. it's a shellscript which tents to be slow. 2. it's called *on* the mailbox-host, not on a dedicated

dovecot 1.0beta1 making base_dir world-writable
I can also confirm this, on my own mail server since upgrading to beta1. Dovecot always makes the base_dir world-writable on startup. ----- Forwarded message from Oleg Safiullin <form@pdp-11.org.ru> ----- Date: Fri, 20 Jan 2006 07:09:17 +0600 From: Oleg Safiullin <form@pdp-11.org.ru> To: brad@openbsd.org Subject: dovecot 1.0beta1 Hi. [PATCH] don't force read bit on base_dir
Hi, I would like to disallow dovecot to read its base_dir (mode 0310). This is currently not possible, because settings_verify() in src/master/master-settings.c will "fix" the directory mode to 0750. The following patch for 1.0rc15 ignores the read bit (0444) when checking the directory permissions. Max -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...

dovecot 2.2.1: lmtp running in base_dir
Evening all, I'm running into an issue with lmtp trying to store user mail in 'base_dir' ( same as this ( http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2011-January/056736.html )) however I'm just using PAM for auth. I've tried with chroot, without chroot and 'chroot'ing lmtp directly in ' service lmtp { } ' which just lead to lots more errors. I've not

Daemon will not start, invalid argument in stat of base_dir (error within)
Running CentOS 5 and Dovecot 1.2.16 Receiving error: Error: stat(/var/run/dovecot) failed: Invalid argument Fatal: Invalid configuration in /etc/dovecot.conf I've put the default dovecot.conf in place and still get the same thing. I've tried removing the /var/run/dovecot folder and letting it re-create it with no success. It creates the /var/run/dovecot folder but that is all.

[PATCH] Replace hard-coded PKG_STATEDIR with state_dir setting
Sharing an installed copy of dovecot between several users each running a daemon within their own account (or using the same binaries for a system daemon and a user daemon) is difficult because the compile-time directory PKG_STATEDIR (typically /var/lib/dovecot) is hard-coded as the location of things like the ssl-parameters.dat file and the replicator database. Replace all these uses of

Dovecot auth user lookup patch for maildrop
Hi, recently I started using maildrop as a MDA doing lightweight filtering in a Postfix/Dovecot mail server combo. Only thing missing was the fact that maildrop couldn't perform user lookups against a user database that was already being served by Dovecot (for smtp auth in Postfix and for imap access obviously) in order to easily determinate proper mailbox location and home directory of

Not getting new mail notification
Hey all, I'm having no luck getting new mail notification except in two mail folders (using maildir w/procmail delivery). I'm using three different clients (sylpheed-claws 1.9.14, Thunderbird 1.5.0.5 and a newer version of Horde). None of them are getting new mail in any except these two folders (inbox and 1 other). If I browse to the folders, still nothing. If I browse to the

auth problem with dovecot-1.0.beta5
Hey folks, Let me start by saying I really love what I see so far! Dovecot seems to be extremely feature-rich, and unlike a lot of free software the documentation is extremely good! I gave up on courier IMAP because of the poor documentation, and I have to say Dovecot sure differentiates itself in that area! Unfortunately I still can't get it going :-/ First thing I noticed is that
