Problem with MySQL virtual users and dsync
Hello,
I am using dovecot 2.2.5 on FreeBSD and I am having trouble using dsync
with SSH.
Everything on the server seems to be working fine (I can login, receive
and send emails etc).
I am using SQL for both passdb, and userdb and this seems to work fine.
The 'doveadm user' command returns all the correct information for the user.
I am getting the following errors in my log file:

Quota question
http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Quota/Configuration
says:
concat('*:bytes=', quota_limit_bytes) AS quota_rule
and
concat('*:bytes=', quota_limit_bytes) AS userdb_quota_rule
but a generic quota_rule on the same page says:
plugin {
quota = maildir:User quota
quota_rule = *:storage=1G
quota_rule2 = Trash:storage=+100M
}
Are "bytes=" and "storage=" equivalent?

imap abort after upgrade from 2.2.4 to 2.2.7
Hi,
I used to use dovecot 2.2.4. I saw lots of warnings saying 'Extension header update points outside header size'.
I upgraded to dovecot 2.2.7, based on the discussion in mail list. Now, I see lots of imap aborts around:
src/lib-index/mail-index-transaction-export.c:203: i_assert(u32.offset + u32.size <= ext_hdr_size);
I also noticed, in some mailbox, imap process kept

Applying Dovecot for a large / deep folder-hierarchy archive.
Hello to you all,
I'd like to ask about my intended application of Dovecot to create a
folder-hierarchy for storing our enterprise emails, which are treated
as live data rather than archives for compliance or occasional /
reactive retrieval.
The data is presently not that large (a few gigabytes), but it is
expected to grow rapidly. Up to this stage the data has been
containedin a Microsoft

Disabling passdb pam in local.conf

No, that would eliminate the ability to change distro settings via the regular
package management.
My goal is to add/remove what my service requires via the additional
local.conf.

Disabling passdb pam in local.conf
Greetings,
I'm trying to create a configuration that leaves every config file deployed by
an install process or paket management software untouched. The goal is to put
every configuration required into /etc/dovecot/local.conf.
I've come quite far, but I fail to disable pam as passdb service in
local.conf. What I get if I run doveconf -n is this section:
passdb {
driver = pam
}

dovecot and glusterfs
Hi,
I did some experiments with dovecot on a glusterfs on the active nodes without
a director. So I had concurrent access to the files.
With the help of the available documentation about NFS and fcntl locks I
managed to find out the following:
With the plain mbox format dovecot seems to apply and to honor the fcntl
locks. But since this format is not used any more in real setups, it is

Exactly (he said that in his initial mail).

Sieve "foreverypart" and "mime" extensions (RFC 5703) now implemented
Hi,
I have finally managed to implement the Sieve "foreverypart" and "mime"
extensions (RFC 5703). These are now included in the main Mercurial
repository and will be included in the next release.
I will be fixing a few minor details in the coming week; e.g.,
interaction with "include" and "editheader" extensions needs more work.
Still, in the mean time,

Help with archive server
Hi,
I want to build a system where 6 months old mail to be moved to
archive server to keep my mailbox clean and fast.
Is there any way to achieve the same using any pre-built binary shipped
with dovecot ?
Thanks and Regards

doveadm -A operations failing due to broken mdbox
I'm using "/usr/bin/doveadm purge -A" to purge the mdboxes of my users.
Unfortunately this command terminates prematurely once it reaches a
defective mdbox!
Is there a workaround for this?
Like using doveadm to get a list of valid users and then run "doveadm
purge -u" on each of those?
