Dovecot/LDAP problem
Dear Dovecot mailing list people -
What I'm trying to do is use Postfix (with virtual users) and a POP3 server
(we don't want IMAP - don't ask) to work against our new Active Directory
servers that will be coming soon. Before we roll anything out we're testing
it in the lab. Here's what we've got:
x86 server running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3

Cannot delete files from samba share
Hi all,
Following an upgrade from samba 2.2.8a to 3.0.22 we have been unable to
delete files on a samba share using an XP client. We were previously able
to delete these files when using 2.2.8a.
The problem occurs when we have a particular sub-set of permissions.
Directory permissions on UNIX are set to 775 and ownerhips to usera :
group1. This should mean that either usera or anyone who

Cannot access server error
Hi,
I'm having a peculiar problem with my Samba server and have not been able
to figure out how to solve it. I've had this server for a very long time,
but recently the main hard drive failed and I only kept backups of the user
files. I set the server back up with Debian Wheezy and Samba 3.6.6.
My problem is as follows:
I have 4 Unix users and groups:

ACL with MySQL dict => full table scans
Hi!
I'm just installing ACL support on 2.1.6.
When a user changes these ACLs, this results in a full table scan on
the dictionary, that tells dovecot who shares with whom.
Here's what queries I see when I run
$ doveadm acl delete -u user1 shared/user2/folder user=user1
1: SELECT dummy,to_user,from_user FROM imap_acl_shares
2: SELECT dummy,from_user FROM imap_acl_anyone

not working : valid users = @"DOM+USER"
Hi,
I have Samba 3.0.4 on Solaris 9, recent patches applied. Samba is
integrated in domain (security = domain). I have compiled and
configured winbind, but not pam and no ldap. Ncsd is stopped.
Winbind works OK, I can connect to share and users get mapped on-the-fly
to UNIX uids and gids in the ranges specified in smb.conf. My config is
included below with some tweaks to protect the innocent.

Samba Group issues - LDAP
Hi all,
Not exactly sure what's the problem here. I use GoSA
(https://gosa.gonicus.de/) to create users in our LDAP system, and
lately when I create new users they don't have any Group associations
in Samba.
I have a bunch of groups in the LDAP tree as well as users. The
server uses libnss_ldap and pam_ldap to access the ldap tree.
If use do getent group then i'll see this...

Two domain groups with the same gid?
Here is the result from getent:
user@SERVER01:~$ getent group | grep 10208
DOMAIN\group1:x:10208:
BUILTIN\administrators:x:10208:DOMAIN\user1,DOMAIN\user2,DOMAIN\user3,DO
MAIN\user4
What is up with that? Is there some way I can manually change the gid
of one of these? The group1 is a new group that I just set up btw.

logwatch reporting
I just launched a new mailserver that is using dovecot. My previous
mailserver used courier-mail. I am expecting better things with this
new server, but I was use to some login information in logwatch that I
am not seeing now. For example I would get:

3-way conference call
Hi,
I am trying to achieve 3-way conferencing taking hint from wiki link
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+n-way+call+HOWTO
Here is the scenario:
1. user "user1" calls user "user2"
2. "user1" then presses the feature code "*0" to redirect "user2" to
conference room 300
3. "user1" then dials the user "user3"
