OT: general question re processor, l2 and l3 cache etc
Greetings
Please forgive the OT question yet I highly value the experience and wisdom
on this list
I am wondering if anyone here can address the performance difference between
having a processor board with say 256KB L2 *and* 2048KB L3 cache *VERSUS*
just having the same processor board with just the L2 cache in a centos
server environment...
Please figure that all other necessary and related

Took a bit of review, but I got everything in good enough form to get
BIND going on the new system.
Now I have to make notes of what I did.

[Asterisk-Dev] Cluecon - Who's going ?
I'm relatively new to Asterisk and I'm hoping attending Cluecon will be
a good way to get up to speed on the project and hear about what others
are doing with it.
We currently use a Cisco IP phone system at my office, although I just
added an asterisk box to provide soft phones to our travelling users.
(IAX2 is a lot easier to get through firewalls than cisco's protocols).

nfsv4 in centos?
Greetings
Some time ago I briefly played with NFS. More recently with Samba.
What I am wondering is if NFSv4 is already integrated into Centos 4 from
upstream.
Reference:
http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/reviews/6331/1/
if not, is there a timeline? Centos 5 ?
and... is or can NFS be a compatible yet better replacement for Samba?
thanks

If I do a minimal centos 5 install
Then if I do a

then if I do a
yum groupinstall "Development Tools" "Development Libraries"
(is that syntax right, it works)?
both are installed yet if I
yum grouplist
this is all that shows up as installed even though both are installed

I don't want to overly speculate... is it just a mirrors syncing thing or?
Only thing I can think of is I installed perl 5.8.8 from centosplus repo in

1 Disk CentOS 5 Install and mucho grande mondo thanks to the CentOS developers!
Greetings CentOS developers, users, and addicts!
As per earlier post, a CentOS 5
linux text
install does install just fine using *only* the 1st CD (1 out of 6) if you
go to custom software selection and deselect everything...
very sweet!!!
the same cannot be said of the default "just hit enter" GUI install...

Hi,
I use previous 4.4 version on my two Compaq

become available for Alpha?
Thanks,

Hmm.. where is mod_php?
Hello All.
Is mod_php for apache hiding in a repo somewhere?
I did a yum --enablerepo=centosplus install mod_php
(as googled) but I don't see any mod_php lurking anywhere.
Anyone know what's up?
Thanks
