examples of drag n drop
Sorry if this sounds cynical, ( i do love script.aculo.us scripts ) ,
but I am wondering if people know of some good real world
examples of uses of drag n drop and sortable lists.
such a cute script will likely be *ab*used as much as it is used.
obviously the point here is to use script.aculo.us to improve
the user interface rather than just have some k00l eFX.
e.g. the drag n drop instantly

fix for scriptaculous dragdrop.js empty list problem
Hi Thomas,
Here''s a fix for the problem that I raised this morning, turned out to be fairly
simple in the end (after many false starts and thrashing about - thank goodness
for Venkman!)
First, in Sortable.create(), I register the parent element (the UL tag or
whatever), and add an extra property to it to mark it as the parent of the list
in question:

Moving all items from one Scriptaculous box to another
I posted the following on news://comp.lang.javascript, and someone
kindly replied suggesting I should try on this mailing list.
(Please excuse very long lines - I carefully format line endings;
but Microsoft Outlook, which I have to use at my client site,
then takes it upon itself to rearrange and remove most of my
linefeeds! :-< )
I am using Thomas Fuchs''s amazing drag-and-drop

scriptaculous dragdrop.js empty list problem
Hi,
I''ve just been having a look at the scriptaculous drag-n-drop library, which
looks exceedingly good. I''m running across a show-stopper here, though -
something that''s cropping up in both the online demos and my own test scripts. If
I set up two lists so that I can drag items between them, then if either list
becomes empty, I can''t drag elements back into

scriptaculous sortable
Hi,
maybe I am using this the wrong way but I have a list as follows
<ul id="secondlist">
<li>bla bla</li>
<li> bla bla </li>
</ul>
and then I add dynamically further <li> elements and create a Sortable
but the onUpdate only fires for <li> items that have not been created
via Javascript.
Any clues?

sortable table rows?
I''ve been trying to make some table rows sortable using Scriptaculous. I''ve
used:
Sortable.create("secondlist", {tag:''tr'', treeTag:''table''});
and
Sortable.create("secondlist", {tag:''tr''});
Neither of which works. Is it even possible to do this?
Thanks,
Daniel

[LLVMdev] Introducing LLBrowse: A graphical browser for LLVM modules
LLBrowse has now been checked in to the llvm.org subversion repository:
http://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llbrowse/trunk/
There are instructions for building and running in the doc/ directory.
<http://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llbrowse/trunk/>First task if someone
wants to take it on - update all of the source files to have the UIUC
license info at the top, and add a LICENSE.txt file :)

[LLVMdev] Introducing LLBrowse: A graphical browser for LLVM modules
One more screen shot: The version I just checked now allows you to see all
of the children of a given compile unit:

I've already found at least one bug in my compiler's frontend using this
tool :)
Oh, and before I forget, I need three small changes to DebugInfo.h:
- DebugInfoFinder's 'module' parameter should be const.

Question about sortables
Hi,
I''m trying to use sortables to sort table rows and move them between
different tables (yes, it''s actual tabular data ;). However, either I
don''t know how to use the tag property of Sortable.create properly, or
it''s only working for li''s. Since it''s probably the first option,
could someone post an example of sorting tr tags and move them

simple captcha image not displaying
Attached is an image of my problem but here goes.
Installed RoR to run Raillist. I installed it per instructions and
everything seems to be working great except I can''t get my captcha
images to show
I am not sure what the problem is as I am a complete noob to RoR.
Any pointers towards a direction to fix would be greatly appreciated!
If you need to the site address is secondlist dot org.

Multiple dynamic Sortables
I''m writing an appliation that contains several dynamically created lists. I
had hoped that the following method for using the Sortable library from
scriptaculous would work:
1) create the list
2) create a Sortable for it
3) create another list
4) create a Sortable for it
and so on. Unfortunately this doesn''t work. I can''t find any info in the
documentation for

IE DragDrop Oppacity Error
This is going to be tough to describe, so bear with me.
I am using the latest scriptaculous and prototype 1.5.rc0
This error only happens in IE, FireFox handles everything just fine.
The error I get is: "Error: Object doesn''t support this property"
Code Section that it breaks on (actual lines has comment at the end):
Effect.Opacity = Class.create();

_marker in dragdrop.js
Hi,
I''ve been confused about the purpose of _marker in dragdrop.js for
quite a while. It doesn''t really look like it does anything with
ghosting on or off. I removed the mark method and didn''t discover any
problems. Is all the mark business a relic from some past idea?
Thanks,

dragdrop patch that enables dragging from and to divs with overflow:scroll
Hi all, this is a patch for 1.5_rc5
I noticed that I was not able to drag stuff out of scrolling divs. When I tried to drag it out, the draggable would remain in that div and the scrollbars would adapt to the bigger content of the div.
This patch extends draggable with an option :tofront. When it is set to true, the draggable will be moved to the document body while keeping its position on the

Sortable or dragdrop to move items from one collection to another?
I need to present the user with a collection of players and one to many
teams. The user can drag a player to a team or from one team to another.
I started out using plain drag-drop, but was having trouble updating both
the from list and the to list. E.g. if a player goes from team1 to team2 I
need to update both of those divs. I can do the team2 div easy enough, but
the player record still
