Network inoperable with QEMU arm example image
I am running Fedora 16 64bit and installed libvirt. I have the VM
running with arm emulation with this one issue I can't figure out. I
used Virtual Machine Manager to manage the VM and can access its console
there. The Ethernet appears to be eth1 and the guest can set an IP on
it etc. However, I cannot see any traffic from the Host when dumping
any of the interfaces. I've tried

CentOS 7 host with guests as bridge cannot access host
I have CentOS 7 host. Two guests on bridge network setup by GUI and
virt-manager.
1 CentOS 8 guest
1 Win 10 guest
Both cannot access the host. They can other machines on the network. Guests
can access the internet just not the host.
I used virt-manager GUi to set up everything. Selected the eth0:macvtap and
Bridge.
I "desire" bridge network.
If I select something else I get access to

How to manually add a new interface to a bridge device?
Maybe my google-fu is failing me, but I have spent the past couple hours
looking at how to add a vnet? Device to my KVM host running CentOS 6, and
for the life of me I can't get this going.
>From all my research if I want to add a device I should just do 'brctl addif
br1 vnet14' if I want to add a vnet14 to bridge br1. When I do this, I
get:
# brctl addif br0 vnet14

libvirt versions / difference to upstream?
Hi,
I want to upgrade my libvirt version, in order
to get a bugfix from upstream, see this BZ
for details:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1084477
in short: libvirt does not handle qos
correctly prior to version 0.10.2-33.el6
however, it is not (yet?) available in CentOS.
The latest available package seems to be:
libvirt-0.10.2-29.el6_5.7.x86_64
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

How to manually add a new interface to a bridge device?
Tried that as well, but this has to be something that gets set at the OS level and loaded, as if you look at dmesg output, you can see all the vnet?? nodes as the OS comes online. So the question is, what is virt-install doing that creates the needed vnet interface that is part of the bridge. I really had to kill and reload the VM just to load a second interface..

How to manually add a new interface to a bridge device?
How do you decide what MAC address to use for that VM interface? As I just
tried to change the MAC to some other value close, like I made
'52:54:00:34:e1:21' into say '52:54:00:34:e1:32', and when I try and load it
in, I get the following:
error: XML error: Attempted double use of PCI Address '0:0:4.0'
Here is one of my network entries:

Xen Networking Issue with CentOS 5.1
Hi,
I tried this post on the Xen list first with no answer. I have 4 machines and 3 of which (all different) have no network access when booted into Xen. I tried using Fedora Core 8 and it produced the same results. Is it normal for the virbr0 interface to take an arbitrary IP? How does it decide what to use? An ifconfig when booted into Xen shows the following:
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet

I need some help in understanding libvirt's virtual networking. I have configured bridged networking (shared physical device) on libvirt+KVM system which is working fine. Also, I am using default NAT network on with virbr0 bridge device and virbr0-nic. I would like to get better understanding on virbr0-nic works in this virtual network configuration. ARP entry intermittently is incorrect for guest - lose connectivity
I've run into a problem on my KVM host where a single guest will be
unreachable to other guests on the same host. This host has 2 bridged
devices and guests assigned to each have the same issue. I've noticed
that when I can't reach the problematic guest, the ARP entry for that
system is incorrect. This issue seems to only be a problem about 75%
of the time when making connections

OpenVswitch with KVM virtual machines
Hey,
I have KVM installed on my Fedora 17 box. I added the network interfaces of the virtual machines to the openvswitch bridge as follows:
____ ____
/ VM1\______br0_______/ em1\
\____/ | \____/
|
_|_
/VM2\
\____/
virbr0 is the virtual network switch
VM1 and VM2 are on the same subnet having tap interfaces vnet0 and vnet1 respectively.
em1 is the default
