moving the Xen4CentOS repo Kernel to 3.10.x
Do we want to move the Xen4CentOS kernel to new LTS 3.10.x from the current 3.4.x Kernel? If so, can we start testing the that kernel build? Is someone from Xen.org working on porting the xen specific patches that are required in the 3.10.x kernel from the ones we have in the 3.4.x tree in Xen4CentOS? The only one I know we need is the blktap module. I have created a new spec that builds a

Problem with Xen4CentOS
Hi folks, we (the company i am working for) are running several dozens of virtualisation servers using CentOS 6 + Xen4CentOS as the virtualisation infrastructure. With the latest versions of all packages installed [1], we see failures in live-migration of stock-CentOS6 HVM guests, leaving a "Domain-unnamed" on the source host, while the migrated guest runs fine on the target host.

libvirt-guests.service doesn't work, but manually running libvirt-guests.sh stop does
Using libvirt 1.2.18 (-1 Arch) and QEMU git-master (2.4.0.r40384.2d69736). pm-utils 1.4.1-6. acpid 2.0.23-4 Installed using Q35 chipset. I can perform virsh # shutdown <vmname>, and watching the client VM console see a graceful shutdown. On host: ===== # systemctl reboot {{{ client VM console immediately blanks out - I do NOT see a graceful shutdown }}} libvirt-guests.sh: Running guests

Xen updates / TODO
Hello, A couple of TODO items/suggestions: 1) Xen 4.2.4 was just released: http://lists.xen.org/archives/html/xen-devel/2014-02/msg01624.html I think we should first update Xen4Centos6 rpms to Xen 4.2.4 to have a "known good" release from the stable branch currently in use in Xen4Centos6. 2) After that, we should start packaging/testing Xen 4.3.2:

Xen4CentOS kernel panic on dom0 reboot
Hello, I've been using Xen4CentOS for the last 3 months. It's working fine and dom0/domUs are stable but the server does a kernel panic when doing a reboot and the server has to be hard reset manually. It has kernel panic on the 3 last reboot. Please stand by while rebooting the system... INFO: task reboot:19800 blocked for more than 120 seconds "echo 0 >

New 3.10.18 Kernel for Xen4 needs testing
For anyone who is using our Xen4CentOS6 repo, we have created a new kernel from the new LTS 3.10.x kernel tree (to upgrade the current 3.4.x xen kernel) that we hope to roll into the production repo. Please look here and test the kernel, libvirt, and xen files there: http://dev.centos.org/centos/6/xen-c6-RC1/ That repo should be able to be used for testing or it should be able to update a

KVM integrated network (user mode) dying after inactivity
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Hi list, I searched the web for bug reports regarding this phenomenon I see on *multiple* machines of a customer, however, I didn't find an exact fit. So, I'd like to ask here whether anyone else has run into this. I have multiple CentOS 6 machines running using KVM to virtualize a bunch of machines on them (LVM-based). Software releases

Automate running grub-bootxen.sh for kernel installs in Xen4CentOS
We need a way to do two things to /usr/bin/grub-bootxen.sh in Xen4CentOS. 1. Automate running it if xen (the package) and the xen kernel are installed. But only if the user WANTS to run it. 2. Allow users to automatically modify the variables passed into the xen.gz line (that is, more or less memory, add console settings, etc.) If you look at the current script,

updating for XSA-108 -
So... it is theorized that XSA-108 is why amazon is rebooting. Is there any way for me to know when this update hits CentOS5 or xen4centos6? Do we know that it is *not* included in one of the centos patches?

Experimental 3.18.12 Kernel for Xen4CentOS 6
All, I have compiled an experimental 3.18.12 kernel from the 3.18 LTS kernel branch from kernel.org for the Xen4Centos 6 tree. http://people.centos.org/hughesjr/xen-kernel/x86_64/ This should be considered extremely experimental at this point and is unsigned. I have tested it on 2 generic servers and it worked fine on both of those with sata and gigabit ethernet. Please test this and provide

Multiple Questions: Xen4CentOS
Hi, Trying to get a handle on the 'not included' aspects of Xen4CentOS. Anyone care to share their experiences with xm vs virtinstall vs virt-manage. Currently I'm running one xm create config to launch a CentOS cd based kickstart install, then I use a second xm create config to run the created systems. Thoughts on pvgrub and running unmodified kernels from within the pv guest. Is

Xen4CentOS installation strangeness
Hi, I have a server with Supermicro X7DVL-3 (P9) motherboard, 16G ECC RAM and LSI SAS 1068e RAID controller. I installed CentOS 6.5 64bit on the machine without any problems, but after following the Xen setup steps at http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Xen/Xen4QuickStart which installed me the kernel 3.10.32-11.el6.centos.alt.x86_64, I encountered a problem: After "Starting certmonger
