cannot compile hvmloader (dev86 missing)
I installed XEN from source, since the binary did not install. The Xen source includes also tools/firmware/hvmloader To compile firmware it only shows a message: WARNING: Install dev86 package to build firmware! At the referred page http://www.cix.co.uk/~mayday I could not find anything about dev86. What do I need to do? I want to install as DomU2 Windows XP and need hvmloader. bye Ronald

dev86/vmxloader for debian
Hi all I have built a preliminary debian package for dev86, required to build xen with vmx support. you can get my packages here: http://debian.nsp.co.nz/dev86. I have also trivially patched the rules for xen 3 to build the vmxloader and include it in the resulting packages, my builds/sources for these packages are here: http://debian.nsp.co.nz/xen3/. I''m working with debian-mentors

hvmloader not fbuilt as part of Xen
Hi, I have 3.0.4-1 testing downloaded a week ago. I have enabled VT in the bios and rebuilt xen, but for some reason hvmloader does not get compiled and built. Under xen/tools/firmware I see hvmloader and when I try and do a make it complains of Install dev86 package to build firmware! (http://www.cix.co.uk/~mayday) Why is the hvmloader not built as part of Xen. I am using

RHEL7/Centos7 with Samba AD
Hi Nico & all, I'm currently updating my samba4 rpms to 4.8.8 and I noticed that I needed to add a new (not in 4.8.7) dependency to my spec file: %{_libdir}/samba/libcmdline-contexts-samba4.so (not too sure in which rpm to add that one but I guess I'll see how it goes). Where's your samba-4.8.x spec rpms tree? Is this:

HVM guest support unavailable
Hi, when I try to start a hvm the well known error message "Error: HVM guest support is unavailable: is VT/AMD-V supported by your CPU and enabled in your BIOS?" appears. I am using an Intel E8400 on Asus P5E VM DO Board. /proc/cpuinfo info shows that the CPU has vmx support. I have enabled "Vanderpool Technology" in BIOS. According to the xen user manual the package dev86

libvirt bridges rhel7
Hi, In RHEL5/6 we have been able to create bridges on our hyper-visor of a number of vlans (eg. em1 -> em1.483 -> br483) We would be able to see this br483 in the virt-manager drop down network choice at the end of creating a new host. On RHEL7 we are not using NetworkManager per the documentation[0] for bridges (and because it is not worth it). So a RHEL7 virt-manager (0.10.0) when

Samba 4.10.8 and 4.9.13 for rhel7/centos7 rpms
Hi everyone, In case anyone's interested, I've posted the rpm builds of samba 4.10.8 that I'm using on RHEL7.7. (I run these in VMs, serving as AD DCs for my SOHO). These rpms use the default python2 from the system. The 4.10.x SPEC file is now more closely aligned with upstream (Fedora SPEC file) and I've yet to test these builds using the system's python3 on RHEL7.
