Disk Activity Monitor
I have a USB disk connected to a Poweredge server. The USB Disk is a Mad
Dog MegaVault with a 160GB drive installed. It's all working fine, but
the external LED on the unit is not working.
I'm currently running a script (yum-pull) for setting up a yum mirror
and it sits for long periods of time seemingly doing nothing. I started
the script this morning at 6:20 for my FC4 yum mirror and

Dissapearence of the program
Hi everybody,
I 'll try to describe the problem I have as clear as I can, because it's quite complicated.
I have a dictionary installed through wine in openSuse 11.1. When I open it nothing appears on my screen, although it runs as a process, i.e. it has a pid. In order to make it appear on my screen I do the following:
1. I maximize the dissappeared dictionary through right click on

Installing Samba 4 on Redhat 6.
Hi - Samba 3 had been running for years on a Redhat 6 box that I can't
upgrade. Suddenly it stopped allowing windows client to access it.
After trying many things, I then tried a "net ads leave" and then tried
a "net ads join." The join fails with this error message:

kworker 100% of single core on mulit-core processor usage inquiry
Greetings everyone.
I am experiencing the kworker issue where a kworker is using 100% of a given core.
This behavior was only observed after having installed a new water cooler, to replace a cooler that had died. (Sealed closed loop device from Corsair)
The processor is staying around 40 degrees celsius as reported by the MB UEFI interface. (ksysguard shows between 29 degrees and 30 degrees,

Centos 7 kworker uses 100% of single core on mulit-core processor usage inquiry
Greetings again everyone.
Can someone please respond to this?
I am not sure what is causing this issue, however, others seem to have experienced it in the past.
Could this be caused by the processor being damaged?
Nothing has changed on the system, except for the heat warning shutoff when the water cooler died, and the system was not restarted until the new one was installed.
Any input

runaway smbd hogging system & ethernet cable bandwidth
Greetings all;
I've probably got something miss-configured, but I have an
intermittent smbd problem, where it will use 15% or so of this
machine and nearly all the much slower firewall box.
I'll try to give enough data here, so my apologies about the length of
this post.
The installed samba versions on this very heavily patched RH8.0
machine are:

Renjin?
Renjin is not R.??
Renjin is an R language interpreter written in Java.
It has become exceedingly obvious that you are making user
errors.??That's not a bug in the language.
If you want to use Renjin, there are mailing lists devoted to Renjin,
and also Stack Overflow and Renjin list questions that cover exactly
what you've asked about (loading packages in Renjin when Renjin is used

Renjin?
Hi All,
OK, in the "back to the drawing board" department, I found what looks like a much better solution to using R in Java. Renjin.
Looking at the docs and then trying a quick example, didn't quite work.
Of course I'm missing something.
Although I'm telling the engine to require ("biotools") just like I would in R itself, when I get to the line of code that

Distribution Diversity at Shorewall.net
Since RedHat announced the discontinuence of RedHat Linux, I''ve been
diversifying shorewall.net. The systems here now are as follows:
a) Firewall -- Debian testing (Installed using the Sarge online
installer).
b) File Server -- SuSE 9.0 Professional
c) Desktop -- Mandrake 9.0
d) Web/Mail -- RedHat 9.0
I think that I will wait until I can afford to build a new

As far as I know , to check for the amount of installed RAM on my
