handling of final partial block in rsync
Greetings, I have been using the rsync C source as a guide for porting the rsync algorithm to Java. This has been successful, but there is one low level detail I am having some issues with. Assuming the default block size of 700 bytes, when stepping through the file and generating checksums for each block it is very likely that there will be a partial block at the end of the file. Right now

Problems mounting ZFS after install
Let me thank everyone in advance. I''ve read a number of posts here and it helped tremendously in getting the install done. I have a couple of remaining issues which I can''t seem to overcome. Here are the basics: dom0 - CentOS 5.2 32-bit Xen 3.2.1 compiles from source domU - os200805.iso The install config: [root@internetpowagroup oshman]# cat opensolaris.install name =

"labels" attached to variable names
Hi, Can we attach a more descriptive "label" (I may use the wrong terminology, which would explain why I found nothing on the FAQ) to variable names, and later have an easy way to switch to these labels in plots? I fear this is not possible and one must enter this by hand as ylab and xlab when making plots. Thanks in advance, Denis Chabot

Synology shares not accessible...
Hi Rowland, to be clear, I'm completely your opinion. They had a running 4.15.9(-0619, their own build number), which was a Beta, and the released version (-0632) didn't worked. So for me it's obvious, too. I can bring the released version to run with a library from their beta version: libidmap-samba4.so. The reason for this as they wrote: "A key difference between SMB

automatic import of rpm keys
Hi, I read http://www.stigviewer.com/check/RHEL-06-000008 The CentOS keys live in /etc/pki/rpm-gpg and when I run yum the first time I am asked if I want to accept the key. Alternatively I could import them manually with something like 'rpm --import /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/$key, maybe in the %post of a kickstart. I am wondering why this import is not happening automatically at install time. There

local -> local file copy question
In looking at source, I started at fileio and found write routines but no read routines. I found a 'WRITE_SIZE' (32K), but no 'READ_SIZE' -- is that' what the MAX_MAP_SIZE (256K)? I would like to make so that rsync can use larger I/O sizes if (maybe a command line option?).... The map routine led me to receiver -- where it looks like it is responsible for reading the file.

panic ... recursive mutex_enter installing a snv_85 domU on Linux dom0
While attempting to install snv_85 as a domU, Debian etch as the dom0, the kernel panics before the rest of the system starts to boot. Currently I''m using the sid releases of xen 3.2 found in Debian sid. I stopped using 3.0.3, as it appears I''m unable to use a ramdisk setting. # dmesg | grep -i mem ... Synology shares not accessible...
There was a Travis Wenks here, who has/had the same problems. I'm still hoping, he's reading the Samba mail list and tell me if he has still the same problems and we maybe can ally for this. Maybe the maintainers who has answered to the bug report can give some advice, too. The problem for me is that the developers from Synology think it can't be their fault. It's a little

create vectors within a double loop
Hi R-list. This is my first post. I'll try to be as precise as possible with the difficulty I have to "get things done". I have a hard time trying to construct a double "for" loop and create within the inner loop new objects (in this case vectors). I posted this question in a non-directly related with pure R-problems list (in grass-stats). In addition, I think I
