x2go (vs. freenx)?
Is anyone using x2go on Centos - and if so, is there any reason to
think about switching from freenx? The old NX client for mac was a
powerpc binary and is no longer supported under mountain lion - and
their new alpha release crashed my mac after an OSX update so I'm
curious if there is anything better around. (And I didn't like the
way the new mac version changed the screen scaling

freenx
Hello,
I am having problems getting freenx running in CentOS 4.5 i386_64. I
know this is not a new problem, however, I havn't
found a solution in all the postings I found on the web.
I did exactly what is supposed to work and described in detail at
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/FreeNX
After doing that I can connect to the server with nxcleint without
problem but I get only a black

freenx vs KVM Virtual Machine Manager - mouse poiner
When I run the GUI Virtual Machine Manager in an NX/freenx session and
open a console to a windows guest VM (haven't tried Linux w/X as a
guest yet), the mouse point location does not track correctly. Is
there some setting to improve this? X2go seems better in this
respect but I'm not sure I want to switch yet. Normally I'd use vnc
or remote-desktop connections directly to the

Remote Desktop Recommendations (2)
Folks
I'm looking for a way to access a GUI desktop on a Centos 7 server
from a Windows client. I have tried:
- X2go from EPEL (fails immediately, apparently they are working on a
solution, but...)
- Freenx (doesn't exist for EL7)
Both the above work fine with Centos 6.
I'm looking for a solution that works over the internet from
afar. My earlier posting failed to mention this.

But it doesn't matter how pretty Gnome3 is on some other box.

As long as it is right and people keep arguing with it, I guess.

X2go server on Centos7, any success?
Folks
I have been unable to get X2go to work on a Centos 7 server. I have
tried both the out-of-the-box GNOME desktop and the Xfce as well.
In both cases, the view from the client is that the screen starts to
appear, then goes away. On the server, I see the following messages
in /var/log/messages (I have erased the user name and replaced it
with XXX). The server is running as a virtual

Thanks in advance for ideas.

Remote control to RDP opened session
Hello,
We struggle with a strange problem trying to remotely contol RDP session
opened to a XEN Fully virrualized XinXP guest.
We built a xen XP desktop guest, equivalent to our normal physical desktops,
we use novell network, and Zenworks to distribute applicatione etc..
The virtual XP guest behaves exactly the same way as the physical one, but
we faced the following issue:

FreeNX authenticates but no desktop on centos 5 ??
Hi all,
I am new to CentOS and freeNX -- both look really awesome, a huge thanks to
all the people making them happen.
I am having a problem with freenx that appears to be specific to centos 5.
my client authenticates but then no desktop comes up. however, when I
connect to a similar machine running centos 4.4, I authenticate and the
gnome desktop just pops up sweet as can be. I also have a vnc

new freenx and nx RPMS released, manual action for x86_64
There are new RPMS released for nx and freenx in the CentOS-4 and
CentOS-5 Extras repository.
I normally do not announce that here, as those can easily be obtained on
a normal "yum upgrade/update", however in this case there are special
actions required *_IF_* you have the x86_64 architecture for either
CentOS-4 or CentOS-5 with the current versions of nx and freenx installed.

samba 4.2 RDP problem
Hi Carsten,
Until yesterday I had the same issue. In thread titled "[Samba] samba 4.2
RDP problem (solved)" there are some proposal to solve this issue but
trying them I was able to connect through RDP but RSAT tools weren't
working anymore.
This was solved using the following smb.conf. In bold the two lines added
which solved this issue. Now RSAT and RDP are working well here.
