perl-Nagios-Plugin-0.35-1.el5.rf.noarch from rpmforge: dependency problem
Hi folks, I hope this is the right mailing list to ask since on the repoforge website there is no list or contact information. I have a problem with updating the perl-Nagios-Plugin package. I have installed perl-Nagios-Plugin-0.33-1.el6.rf.noarch, and running yum update leads to: > Error: Package: perl-Nagios-Plugin-0.35-1.el6.rf.noarch (rpmforge) > Requires:

what happened to rpmforge?
When did they change/lose their name? I was trying to go there here at work, and the site was blocked. I put in a ticket, and get a response that I may have been looking for repoforge, and rpmforge is for raw food diets.... mark

yum priorities and obsoleting...
Hey, I ran into a yum conflict regarding an repoforge extra package obsoleting a base package. The thing is that I set a lower priority to repoforge extra... Any idea how come I ran into this issue...? The question is more about the yum priorities than repoforge. ... 1743 packages excluded due to repository priority protections ... --> Running transaction check ---> Package

OT: RepoForge/RPMForge State Survey
Hello, RepoForge used to be one of the important repositories for CentOS/RHEL. I know that RepoForge is considered to be clinically dead nowadays. On the other hand RepoForge is still physically alive. We would like to harness community opinion on RepoForge status and future. In case that you use or used to use the RepoForge I kindly ask you to fill up this form to help us with the decision.

Hi all, I've just migrated my mail system from procmail to managesieve/sieve and I'm having trouble trying to duplicate a could of rules I used to use in my procmail config. yum --import of RPMforge
Using the instructions on: http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories/RPMForge#head-f0 c3ecee3dbb407e4eed79a56ec0ae92d1398e01 I enter the command: rpm --import http://apt.sw.be/RPM-GPG-KEY.dag.txt and it comes back to the prompt, like it worked, but attempting to confirm the download: rpm -K rpmforge-release-0.5.2-2.el6.rf.*.rpm results in: error:

vlc?
Hey, folks, a co-worker raves that vlc is the bestestplaysthemostformats media player there is, including being able to resize videos. I see it's only over on repoforge for CentOS, but trying to install it at home (I'm running 5.8, 32-bit), it wants about 30 or more dependencies, and one or two of them, of course, have conflicts. Has anyone installed it in a 5.x environment? If so,

rpmforge vs epel
I've been informed that rpmforge and epel do not play well together and that if I use both, epel should have the higher (lower numbered) priority. Alas I had it the other way around. rpmforge messed up my effort to get audacity. I no longer need audacity, but would like to fix the situation before some other problem crops up. Would fixing the priorities and telling yum to reinstall all the

yum does not update package list
Hello. I have been trying to add rpmforge as a repository, but yum does not seem to be updating the package lists. I tried $ yum check-updates [...] Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * base: <mirror> * epel: <mirror> * extras: <mirror> * rpmforge: mirror.ate.info * updates: <mirror> and searched for any package available there, like i3 and mpv. Not respected repo priorities...
Ah ah, the demo effect... just after I said I did not have much issues with repos... ^_^ A collegue installed some packages (for perconna) and since then a server insists on replacing 2 base packages with 2 rfx packages, even when I gave a lower priority to rfx... are RPMForge and EPEL compatible?
Following Fabian's blog post re: RPMForge being rebuilt for EL5, I've a question: Are there any compatibility problems between RPMForge and EPEL? In other words, if I enabled EPEL previously, will I be able to enable RPMForge as well without running into trouble? -- Florin Andrei http://florin.myip.org/

Finding lshw and flash-plugin or alternates
Dear CentOS Gurus I have been using "repoforge.org" primarily to obtain two RPMs, "lshw" and "flash-plugin". I recently realized that "repoforge.org" should not be used, as it has had no updates for a long long time. But, when I search for the RPMs within the repos: base centosplus contrib epel extras updates the lshw program is nowhere to
