KDE 1.0.3 and kdelibs problem
I'm able to get ./configure to get past the Qt error but now it complains that kdelibs isn't installed, or the version of qt doesn't match kdelibs. Everything was yum installed, and this is on CentOs 5 64-bit. Thanks for additional configuration help. Scott

How to downgrade gtk2 libs in CentOS 6.8?
Hi all. I'm using a CentOS 6.8 VM to do volunteer builds for an open source project. I want to build Pale Moon with a gtk2 library older than 2.24, to allow people with older linuxes to run it. Short summary, if built against version gtk2-2.24 and/or higher, the binary will use a function that does not exist in gtk2-2.23 and lower. Net result is that the program dies with an

how to downgrade from CentOS 5.2 to CentOS 5.1?
I've run into some trouble with a new cPanel VPS, and noticed that it's running CentOS by default, installed via the CentOS http server. My question is, how do I downgrade CentOS to 5.1? -- Kind Regards Rudi Ahlers CEO, SoftDux Web: http://www.SoftDux.com Check out my technical blog, http://blog.softdux.com for Linux or other technical stuff, or visit

downgrading packages
After the large update from 7.2 -> 7.3 there is one major problem, the amanda backup packages. Strange situation, the host is the amanda server is working fine at backing up all my remote clients. But it has an error backing up itself. The amanda packages did not change version (3.3.3) and I've done no configuration change. I'm not looking for help debugging this at the moment.

Die, KDE! Die! (Sticking with Gnome and Yum Conflicts)
Okay, I experimented with both KDE and Gnome, and decided I'd rather use Gnome. After making this decision, I wanted to remove KDE, because I like to keep my hard drive as lean as possible. I accomplished this, or so I thought, by running: # yum groupremove "KDE (K Desktop Environment)". It seemed to work. Removed a whole bunch 'o stuff. Okay, but then I wanted to install k3B,

Hi guys, As we discussed in the last CentOS SIG Virt meeting below the steps that we do to rebuild the qemu-kvm from http://vault.centos.org to enable the rhev-features like live snapshot for CentOS. 1. Download the last qemu-kvm from http://vault.centos.org/${version}/updates/Source/SPackages/ 2. mock -D "${build_version}" -r epel-6-x86_64 --with=rhev-features --rebuild

kde 4.3 beta 2, compiz 8.2 - panel pager doesn't work until plasma crash and restart
Listmates, Woking with compiz 8.2 on kde 4.3 beta 2 on Archlinux, the plasma "kicker" pager widget does not work correctly after compiz 8.2 is started. Before compiz is started you see the 4 small desktop representations stacked 2x2. After you start compiz, the panel only shows a single large pane 'Desktop 1' no matter what desktop you are on. The strange part is that

Thank you for spotting that one! Don't know it's because I'm still tired from yesterday, but don't seem to be able to downgrade. The command 'yum downgrade nfs-utils' just returns nothing to

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev][llvmdev] Clang 3.6 and trunk, high RSS usage compared to GCC (12.5GB vs. 0.5GB)
Hi, I found that after moving to Clang pre-3.6 (git 65d8b4c4998b3a0c20934ea72ede72ef4838a004) and trunk (git 718825a8666acd9ceaab70fc7868332f20e2758f) our internal build machines started going offline in Jenkins. Clang after 3.5 release is consuming extreme amounts of memory in some cases. I have uploaded [1] one of affected files. $ g++ -std=c++11 -c -O1 -fPIC vpp_generated.ii -o

KDE Upgrade from 3.3.1 to 3.4.2
I have downloaded the required KDE files (version 3.4.2)(I know what all files are required), and tried to simply upgrade using the rpm -Uvh command. But i began getting dependency problems. Now, what I did was searched google like a mad buffalo :P to find that missing files, and was successful to a great extent. But the weird thing was I got a few conflicts, which I can't around with. Severe issues with the latest 6.5 desktop
Ok, here at home, I'm running kde. After the last update, last week, and reboot (and that was a *real* mess - some issue I'm not sure I've resolved yet, trying to boot off RAID 1), here's what's started happening: I run in runlevel 3, and have a startx in my .bash_profile. At some point, just about every day, suddenly the toolbar on the bottom vanishes, as does my desktop
