Choppiness in FF v1.5
Hey all,
I''ve got an interesting one for anyone who''s up for a challenge.
Essentially, I have a very choppy effect, that almost looks like
timeouts are overloaded or interfering or something, that only occurs
when sortables are on the same page as "standard" effects. Here''s what
I''m doing:

Why such bad performance with IE ?
Regarding DragDrop
I am wondering what the deal about Internet Explorer 6 is. My application is
near to final and now while testing browsers all but the IE6 are running as
supposed to. Any other browser is performing smooth movement while IE
compared provides a very bad expirience. I''ve seen some "tuning" infos on
this list but they are either outdated or not actually working

Sortable + Draggable : doesn''t follow the mouse horizontally
When a ''draggable'' element is made ''sortable'', it no longer follows the
mouse horizontally when you drag it.
Is there a solution/workaround?
TIA

IE Sortable Style Problem
Hi Guys,
I am having a problem in IE (tested versions 6 and 7 beta) with sortable divs in a container div with overflow set to scroll. It looks like all of the divs have their position set to relative after the sortable initializes, and also after being dragged. When a div (any element?) has a relative position in a containing div with overflow set to scroll, all of the divs with relative

Is it possible to create a "dashboard" type application, like

Sortable callback, when dragging starts/stops
Hi *,
is there a callback or something else to get noticed, if the user starts
(stops) to drag an element of a sortable? I only found the onUpdate and
onChange callbacks, but they don''t give the information I need.
Thanks in advance,
Tim

RE: sortable list question
Assuming that $(ids[i]) is the hidden input field, wouldn''t the
following line need to reference it as a form element?
> $(ids[i]).innerHTML = i;
I would assume it should be (the "'''' + " makes it a string, not sure if
you can set a form element value to an int, maybe you can):
$(ids[i]).value = '''' + i;
Or maybe I''m not

My try on nested sortables
Hello,
please take a look at http://test.reasonmaker.com/sort/ where I made
some hacks to allow for nested sortables. I need a hierarchical,
sortable list, so I hacked away.
It generally works quite nicely, but:
( - The code needs my debug stuff and failed attempts removed )
- The code needs to be adapted to also work with vertical sortables.
It probably breaks vertical sortables.

sortable scroll in div problem : dragged element doesn't follow the mouse pointer
Hello,
I''m facing a strange problem with a long list of Sortable items in a
container that has an overflow:auto.
If I drag an item from the top to the bottom, the container div is
scrolling, but there is a difference between the position of the
dragged element and the mouse pointer.
An example is better that a thousand words.
Try to drag the first item at the bottom of the

scriptaculous & sortables/draggables scrolling?
Re,
Would anyone happen to know how to make sortable/draggable scroll down
the page while moving the object if the page happens to be larger than
the screen size? These functions seem to work only within the visible
working space.
Right now I have workaround whereby I have an omnipresent DIV on the
screen to which I drop an element, then scroll down in the browser to
a certain point, and then

Weird flicker effect in IE6 (sortables)
Hello everyone
I have made some strange expirience yesterday. I have an unordered list with
sortable list items (basic). Within these are various contents (forms, divs,
more lists) etc..
Now on only some of them the whole page (all text) begins to flicker /
redrawn in Internet Explorer 6 if i pick up a dragable and move it above its
original position (like moving it above the ghost of the

Possible to ''Reset'' sortable?
Hi all,
I have a sortable list (tree) that interacts with various droppables.
[List 1]
[List 2]
[List 3]
[List 4] [Drop here 1]
[List 5] [Drop here 2]
Now, on dragging [List 2] and dropping it on [Drop here 2] a certain action
takes place. I then want [List 2] to return to its original location.
However, it returns to the list below [List 4].
So, any ideas how I can get it to

Sortable, stop event on drop
I''ve got a "Sortable" list that is sorting just fine. But in the list
items, there is a link. If you mousedown on the link, drag it to a
new location and mouseup, the list gets reordered appropriately, but
then the link is followed (you did - after all - click it). Is there
a way to either stop the mouseup/click event before activating the
link after you''ve dragged

Disabling anchor clicking in a draggable
Hey guys
I have an interesting problem - I have some draggable elements (sortable
actually), with links (<A>) inside them. I want the user to be able to
click on the link, however if the user drags the element I don''t want
the link to get fired. Can anyone think of a way to do this? It only
needs to work in Firefox.
Cheers

sortables and onClick events firing
I have a page that I have been tasked with adding sortable support to, and
the div elements that are being dragged have a <a href> in them with an
onClick handler that opens a new window with a preview. Is there a way to
keep that onCLick from firing when a sortable is dropped?

Multi-level drag and drop in scriptaculous?
I am trying to create a screen like Google''s personalized home pages or
start.com, i.e., with draggable sections, with the extra feature that
the child items under the parent headings could be dragged and dropped
from one parent heading to another.
I have set up nested droppable sortables (dropOnEmpty=true) but the
behavior is very inconsistent, i.e, parents do not become droppable

Unspecified error in prototype.js
Hi,
1. I have 2 panes, each having approximately 45-50 slides, all the
slide images are 110x82 pixels in size, enclosed in their respective div''s.
2. These divs are further enclosed in a parent div, which is defined as
a Sortable on page load.
3. There is a destination div on the RHS also.
Sortable.create("div_leftDiv", {ghosting:true, revert: true,
dropOnEmpty:true,
