KVM Question
I'm curious exactly how KVM works. If i see things right it's
virtualization that's still within a full base operating system load
correct? How does KVM perform against VMware which uses a much smaller

basics of KVM..:)

Stuttering sound
Dear List,
After some googling around without any results, I'm quite puzzled. Since
some past update I can't precise, kernel 2.6.164 works fine, however 2.6.194
has some sound problem in my somewhat old and beaten Toshiba laptop.
-Audacious plays OK but other applications have problems.
-For instance, mplayer acts quirky: when I pause a playing video, sound
keeps stuttering endlessly. The

Sound card problem
I came into an Abit AX8 motherboard and single core AMD Athlon 64 FX. I
did a quick install of CentOS 5.0 on it to make sure everything worked
and then returned the hard disk and case to the original owner. After
getting a new case and hard disk, I downloaded the CentOS 5.1 cd images
and installed. For some reason the motherboard's on board sound no
longer works (worked with CentOS

Microphone problems with Skype
Hi,
I have CentOS4 and this soundcard:
00:11.5 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc.
VT8233/A/8235/8237 AC97 Audio Controller (rev 60)
I installed the Skype rpm for Fedora3 and it works but the quality of
my voice is very poor: volume is low and the voice sound doesn't have
the high frequencies.
Did any of you made Skype work perfectly under CentOS4? How?
Thanks,
Adrian

cheap cloud providors
Hey guys,
Apologies in advance if this question is in poor taste. But I've really
fallen in love with learning about the cassanrdra database. The only
problem is that it doesn't run very well on an t1.micro instance at amazon
and the larger sizes are quite expensive. An m1.small can do the trick,
while still not optimal. So I was wonder if there was any real value in the
cloud or even

[patch] Activate Qemu options
Hi,
This patch makes it possible for Qemu to use the SDL library, to
conveniently replace VNC, which has horrible mouse support.
It also adds a IOEMU_CONFIGURE_OPTIONS option in tools/Makefile, so that
later on, we can call:
$(MAKE_CLEAN) -C $(DIR)/tools $(CONFIG)
IOEMU_CONFIGURE_OPTIONS="--audio-drv-list=\"pa oss alsa sdl esd\"

What does an't locate module sound-service-0-3 mean in the context

I don't use curl as far as I know. Should I "noload" it in
