Drag & Scroll
When using drag and drop, the browser window will not scroll if you move the mouse off the page. This makes it very difficult, if not impossible to create certain types of web applications.
I know this has been mentioned before and is on the Wish List, but it''s very frustrating.
If you look at this other Javascript library called "Drag''nDrop & DHTML Library"

Dragging between DIVs with Prototype/script.aculo.us
Hi,
I''m fairly new to script.aculo.us, so hopefully this is the right place
to ask this question. I have the following situation (pseudo-code):
<div>
<Droppable 1>
<Droppable 2>
</div>
<div (scrollable)>
<Draggable 1>
<Draggable 2>
...
</div>
Basically, my Draggables are inside a scrollable <div> element (the

sortable scroll in div problem : dragged element doesn't follow the mouse pointer
Hello,
I''m facing a strange problem with a long list of Sortable items in a
container that has an overflow:auto.
If I drag an item from the top to the bottom, the container div is
scrolling, but there is a difference between the position of the
dragged element and the mouse pointer.
An example is better that a thousand words.
Try to drag the first item at the bottom of the

Draggable performance issues
Using the script.aculo.us Draggables, I''m noticing they are a bit less
than fast. I drag them around on the screen and they jump and glitch to
catch up with the mouse.
Has anyone else noticed this, and are there any optimizations that have
been identified that I can apply? I''m using v. 1.5

Dragging out of an ''overflow: auto'' container
Hey all,
Is there a solution for dragging an item out of a scrollable container?
It seems to just scroll the container for me. Sorry if this is in the
FAQ, the site''s been unreachable for me since last night.
Thanks

Draggables and overflow:auto
Hey guys. I''m trying to drag between two lists, except one list is
really long so I set a height on the <ul> with overflow:auto.
Unfortunately when I drag between the lists I can''t drag items outside
of the <ul> with the overflow on. Does anyone know how I can make this
work? I think I might be able to hack up something with rico''s live
tables, but that

Scrolling Tables/Divs?
Is anyone working on a scrolling table or div such as the openrico
livegrid demo? I''m looking to develop (much like smashbox''s scrolling
images) a collection of thumbnails that you can scroll horizontally.
I''ve got a non-prototype.js example but I wanted to check to see if
anyone was closer than I to this.
BTW, I will be finishing up my slider code shortly and

Dropables problem on scroll bars
I have a droppable and draggable implementation. works pretty much well
except when my droppables are on a scrollbar (created via overflow:auto)
since my droppables are on a list.
seems that the droppables aren''t working well with scrollbars and overflow.
please help!

scriptaculous & sortables/draggables scrolling?
Re,
Would anyone happen to know how to make sortable/draggable scroll down
the page while moving the object if the page happens to be larger than
the screen size? These functions seem to work only within the visible
working space.
Right now I have workaround whereby I have an omnipresent DIV on the
screen to which I drop an element, then scroll down in the browser to
a certain point, and then

Dragging a copy of an image and then reverting
I''d like to drag images onto drop zones. I have a working demo with one
problem: the image leaves the dock and then "snaps back" to it:
(broken -- image leaves dock during drag then snaps back)
http://u32.net/junq/imlib-demo-1/
I can get the image to remain in the dock during the drag using
''ghosting:true''. But how do I keep the original in the dock

question about Sortables
So, is there any way to specify a sortable to only do a callback when
the dragged item is dropped? As it is, the onChange is called whenever
you move the draggable to a new element (even if you don''t drop it), but
I''d rather only call my function after they drop it to avoid unnecessary
additional server calls. It looks like Droppable supports an ''onDrop'',
but

Dragging to a textfield?
Hi All,
I''m trying to drag a copy of a string from a list into a text field so
that the original string stays in the list. I''m able to drag the item
and set the value of the text field onDrop. But the original text leaves
the list & with revert set to true it flies back to it''s original
position in the list. We''re trying to avoid the flying text.

Few questions
I apologize if these questions are not relevant to Scriptaculous. I
just want to get a general idea if I can acomplish some or all of
these things with the framework, and then what (if any) I''ll need to
do outside just using javascript.
For now, I have 2 column layout. On the right I want a form palette
where form elements can be dragged to the left column. I have a form

Looking for specific drag and drop implementation
I finally started playing with delicious and am liking it!
I''m building an app where people can have various ''folders'' of images and
then ''sets'' of said images. A set is simply a object that links to any
number of specific image in the folders.
To create/organize a set, I''ve set up two draggables. One being a selected
folder, the other being

problem with drag and drop
Hello, I''m creating an application wich can be seen at
http://158.227.7.9/serious_serv/prueba_xml_test(31-3)/interfElemen/integMenuContextFileUpl.htm
The instructions for working with it are the following: with rigth-click you
can click "AƱadir una imagen" to load an image into the page, then you can
drag and drop it in the box with "aqui van las imagenes" into it.

Possible to scroll window when user drags a draggable?
It doesn''t seem to be possible, but perhaps somebody knows a trick. I
have some lists that get too long and users can''t drag from list 10,
for example, to list 1. Is there a way to get the browser window to
scroll as they drag the item up?
Thanks!

hoverclass on droppable zone
Hi guys,
I''m trying to make a drag''n''drop portal using sortable element. I
would like to apply the "hoverclass" option only on the droppable zone
instead of the column border.
Any idea a about the solution?
Thanks for any help,

Drag/Drop finding droppable's properties?
Hi All,
I am trying to develop a dynamic form creator application, whereby we
can drag objects from a "palette" and drop them onto a "form" to build
the design of our form.
To achieve this, when I have dragged the object, and dropped it onto
the "form" area, I want to get the position of where the object was
dropped.
I have a droppable area:
