Hi Lists, sorry for reposting this, but since no response has arrived so far and my time on this project is passing by I need to make a conclusion. Do I better use my DVR cards in dom0 or moving it to a separate physical machine rather than using them in a domU? Could someone shed light on why it is trickier to pass-thru one of these cards than any other pci devices? Do they try to read-write

OT hardware question
With the continuing annoyance from motion, my manager's asked me to go looking again for a video surveillance appliance: basically, a motion-detecting DVR and cameras. The big thing, of course, is a) price (this is a US federal gov't agency, and being civilian, money is *tight*, don't give me the libertarian/GOP line about how freely we spend, thankyouverymuch), b) it has to be on the

EyeMax DVR
I have an application that I'm trying to get to work in Wine: EyeMax DVR. Everything seems to work aside from being to intialize the drives (the biggest part) I have no idea what initializing the drives does, I've never seen what it's supposed to do. I know that the Software is made to be able to write video to drives 24/7, because it's used for security systems.

Hi, some more info which I collected during physically accessing the machine while rebooting. I was suprised that while it was not able to do anything it was not a ''static'' kernel panic, but the following text was scrolling continously thru the screen: """ ata3: port reset, p_is 1 is e pis 1 cmd c017 tf 50 ss 113 se 0 ata3: status=0x50 { DriveReady SeekComplete }

DVR recorder how to resucue files
It looks like you've backuped an entire disk that might contain partitions. So first check if you have partitions inside: sudo fdisk -lu save.dd If you have partitions inside, use the start offset of the partition to create a loopback device (e.g. a partition starts at 56): sudo losetup -o $((56*512)) /dev/loop0 save.dd Now you should be able to use the partition. First check and than

Strange performance issue
I have a strange performance issue and have no idea how to find the bottle neck. A page on my site (http://www.neco.com/events/2783239) is taking way too long to load. So I decided to test it out via curl to see how fast it was downloading the page and this is what I got: ben-johnsons-macbook-pro-17:neco-website benjohnson$ time curl -o output.txt http://www.neco.com/events/2783239 % Total %

Hi, Michael Hennebry wrote: > The last time I use it [K3B], , it crapped out after writing, > but before finalizing. Sounds like a growisofs problem. If it was with unformatted DVD-R or DVD-RW media, does it resemble this error ? https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=810483 Any message from the failed program run might help to diagnose the problem. Have a nice day :) Thomas
