OpenDJ - and Centos Auth
All, I have a working OpenDJ with SSL enabled and have also added users to it.... Now, I am unable to authenticate my linux box to OpenDJ LDAP server, either from login prompt or ssh... I understand sssd is the latest program which does this configuration and I have that configured... though there is lot of howtos which google get, still there is clear documentation that I can find to perform

Using Apache auth to secure certain areas of Rails app
Hello! My setup is Rails 1.1 with Apache 2.x proxying the Rails stuff to lighttpd. I know how to set up Apache to secure my entire Rails app to require a username/password challenge. Is it possible to set up the challenge for only parts of my application? E.g., let''s say I have a "pub" controller whose views are accessible to anyone. I am already implementing user

mod_auth_ntlm_winbind issues - does apache connection mgmt support NTLM?
Hello, I have configured Samba 3 with Winbind and installed the mod_auth_ntlm_winbind module deployed on Ubuntu 10 which is used by a web application to enforce logging using windows domain credentials. I have verified that all these layers are properly working? ie.. wbinfo ?u (good), wbinfo ?a <username> (good), ntlm_auth ?helper-protocol=squid-2.5-basic (good). Next step I

Wireless Mic System
I have used several Shure systems, a few Sennheisers and a few AudioTechnica systems. Do not expect any of these systems, even the highest end, to be anywhere as reliable as a wired mic. As the years went on, I generally moved higher and higher end to try to weed out problems I had with units that were due to design or unit flaws. I've been out of the biz for a few years now (since my kids

Why not, but please guide me about the core structure (mandatory funcitons, etc..) of a typical Dovecot FTS plugin On 2019-01-04 17:20, Aki Tuomi wrote: > I hope you are aware that "linking with Xapian" requires somewhat more work than just -lxapian in linker? Solr -> Xapian ?
Yes but: 1 - is there a documentation of the main object ? (fts_backend, mail_user, mailbox, etc..) 2 - What are the mandatory functions ? 3 - Search : Supposedly, the FTS shall have several parameters : the keyword(s), the user & mailbox, and the fields (to, from, body, etc..) to be includude in the search. What is the function called in the plugin ? 4 - Indexing : Somehow, what is

CentOS-4.4: I likke the new look! ... uh and everyhing's good too.
Downloaded 290/290 and kernel panic, not syncing. Same old Linux. Fortunately, hadn't started updates, /home had been unmounted by some forward-looking individual and there was a sync;sync and blockdev -- flushbufs running every 15 seconds. =>:-o Pucker factor went from {O} to {o} to }{ the max! Anyway, a quick reboot, fsck, split the check-update into 2 arbitrary pieces and do it again.

Apache bug, eats memory...
Hi, the following pieces of mail came by on BugTraq. It appears that Apache (1.2.5 and 1.2.6 tested, 1.3 is vulnerable according to Ben Laurie [Apache member]) doesn''t handle the case, when there are a lot (say 10000) of "User-Agent:"-headers. (other headers could also work!). An exploit with source-code was posted on BugTraq. excerpts from the mail by

I hope you are aware that "linking with Xapian" requires somewhat more work than just -lxapian in linker? If you or someone feels like writing fts_xapian, go for it. Need help from Apache mod_rewrite crew !
Hi ! Has anyone got any tips/tricks on running a Productized Rails app on DreamHost ? Specifically, I get this in my error.log: ----------- [Mon Oct 10 11:39:46 2005] [error] [client 69.70.225.69] mod_rewrite: maximum number of internal redirects reached. Assuming configuration error. Use ''RewriteOptions MaxRedirects'' to increase the limit if neccessary. ----------- As

apache, krb5 annoyances
Something I've been fighting since yesterday... I got trac installed, and working. Then I had to add security. Got all the moving pieces in - mod_ssl, auth_kerb. If I go to https://hostname/trac, everything's fine, a popup window asks for username and password. But if I go to https://hostname.f.q.d.n/trac, it fails, returning a 500? 501? Internal server error. I'm on a workstation

Fwd: Re: Basic authentication with Apache and Mongrel
There is a big difference if you are not running a pure rails site. I am doing auth apache-side because I serve static content, perl scripts via cgi and feed the mongrel pack from Apache. The REMOTE_USER variable value can be passed to rails using a technique described deep down in one of the informative pieces on the Mongrel website. Bare naked server
Thanks, Zed, for mongrel :!) I''ve been on TextDrive for some time running my sites behind apache w/lighttpd. Once it got running it was cool enough. When it ran. And there was still the webmin dance and all. So I decided to set things up on my little dedicated redhat server - since I''d had so much success locally w/mongrel. Fast. Simple. It has been great and I managed to move

A starting point would be to have a look at the current FTS plugins: https://github.com/dovecot/core/tree/master/src/plugins/fts-solrandhttps://github.com/dovecot/core/tree/master/src/plugins/fts-squat -M Am Freitag, den 04.01.2019, 18:17 +0800 schrieb Joan Moreau via dovecot: > Why not, but please guide me about the core structure (mandatory > funcitons, etc..) of a typical Dovecot FTS

s/key authentication for Apache on FreeBSD?
I'm constructing a Web server which may require restricted areas of the site to be used from public places where a password might be sniffed. The damage that could be done by taking snapshots of the content from one session with a spy program is minimal. What the owner of the server does NOT want, though, is to allow unauthorized parties to gain unfettered access by stealing the password via
