a-gnome-oyences
Most of my users are on kde, as am I (I really don't like gnome). I've got one on gnome, though, CentOS 6.4, and I have a problem: I have to start an agent running ->on login<-, so that the same one is in the environment of every term window he opens. In kde, no problem, I modify /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc-common so that code in there calls our (newer) ssh-agent instead of the stock one.

Error in xorg-x11-xinit
Hello, if login as user I get the following error message in ~/.xsession-errors*: /etc/X11/xinit/Xsession: line 15: unask: command not found Changing 'unask' to 'umask' seems to fix it. This happens under CentOS 5 and 5.1. regards Olaf

real_rip variable addition for dovecot 2.1.10
Timo, Please check the code. I didn't add it, but a real_lip might be useful for some people as well. Also, I notice that pop3-proxy is doing a different xsession than the imap proxy. Is there an xsession standard that is different between the two, or just an oversight in the code? Both send the remote address/port, but only imap proxy sends the local address/port. This patch declares

How can I get .xsession-errors back?
I did some research and see a LOT of folks would love to get rid of their .xsession-errors file and I'm in the opposite situation -- where is mine? Do I have to install or enable something special to get this back. All my users are starting X with startx and the default .xinitrc. Is this the problem? -- -------------------------------------------- MzK "We can all sleep easy at night

2.9p1 ssh-add/ssh-askpass first try fails
OpenSSH Version 2.9p1 of "ssh-add $HOME/.ssh/id_rsa < /dev/null" fails on the first try of using ssh-askpass before the window manager starts. The second try works. The error message on the first try is "Bad passphrase, try again". This did not occur using OpenSSH-2.5.2p2.tar.gz. I've tested this on both RHL6.2 and RHL7.1, both with all RH rpm updates applied. I

Re: libvirt beginner needs to create and start VMs entirely on command line
This is offtopic, but related to what you’ve told me so far. I’m having some trouble getting the VNC connection to work. Technically, the “connection” is working fine, but the Windows TightVNC Viewer comes up with an error dialog saying this: Xsession: unable to start X session --- no "/home/.../.xsession" file, no "/home/.../.Xsession" file, no session managers, no window

Where is .xsession-errors
Hi Yesterday I was using OpenOffice Impress, doing many cut/paste operations with images, and without any notice/message/warning the application die. Then I look for ~/.xsession-errors file to see any signal about the problem, but I realized that ~/.xsession-errors is no longer present. This is a new behaviour of X.org ? I'm running CentOS 4 and XFree86 Version 4.3.0.1 (Debian

Re: libvirt beginner needs to create and start VMs entirely on command line
I’m confused. You’re asking if I’m able to connect with VNC in response to my comment that I’m unable to connect with VNC? What I see when I open the viewer on the port is a window titled “<username> X desktop”, with a grey background, an “X” cursor, and an error dialog (with an “okay” prompt) saying what I described before. Ctrl-Alt-F1 and similar keys do nothing. From: Jeff Tchang

Window isn't readrawn after beeing in background
Hi, I've already made a bug out of this: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25160 but it seems only to happen for me. I've asked others, e.g. the other test-result-submitter for Black Prophecy, no one has the same problem. So I think it's somehow related to my own wine-settings. I'm using gentoo with openbox and wine-1.3.7, the following configure: Code: ./configure

RC1 Zfs writes a lot slower when running X
Hi, I have OpenSolaris on an Amd64 Asus-A8NE with 2gig of Rams and 4x320 gig sata drives in raidz1. With dd, I can write at quasi disk maximum speed of 80meg each for a total of 250meg/s if I have no Xsession at all (only console tty). But as soon as I have an Xsession running, the write speed drops to about 120MB/s. Its even worse if I have a VBoxHeadless running with an idle win2k3 inside. It

compiz without a desktop window
Running compiz without a desktop window has some unexpected behavior. It is not possible to grab the cube with the mouse. The pointer needs to be over a window for it to work. In display.c the XSelectInput call in addDisplay is missing ButtonPressMask and ButtonReleaseMask, so it makes sense why this doesn't work. Is there a reason why they have been left out? Lower window with Button2 on

Problems with Directx
Ever since 1.1.27, I've been having problems with what I think is directx. I updated to 1.1.29 (I skipped .28) and I still get the same errors. I've tried using winetricks to install Directx9, but it doesn't do much to alleviate the problem. I've completely deleted my .wine folder and reinstalled 1.1.29 from scratch, but I still get the problem. I have the latest nVidia drivers
