question about sortable demo
Hi, I''m new to the script.aculo.us library and AJAX. Of course, I already want to use a sortable list for something more complicated than the sortable list demo. In the example below, what is the structure of params[:list]? I don''t know what I can do with it once I have it in my controller method. Thanks, Peter # view <ul id="list"> <% 6.times do |i|

Questions about Sortable javascript
Hi, I''ve been playing with sortable, the demos on script.aculo.us and reading the javascript. I hope I''m not just missing the documentation somewhere but I can''t find it. I want to do something like Sortable for the admin side of an open source ecommerce project I''m working on [1]. I''m relatively new to DHTML but understand the basic ideas. If someone

Sortable Element with Partials?
Hi Everyone, I posted this last month and unfortunately, I didn''t recieve any replies. Maybe this time I''ll have better luck. I originally had my sortable element list working properly like so: <ul id="sortable_list"> <% @items.each do |item| %> <li id="item_<%= item.id %>"><%= image_tag "dragme.gif"

Script.aculo.us: Dynamic Sortable List Problems
This is my first post to this mailing list so I hope its in the right location.I''m trying to use a list of draggables (not sortable) which I can drag into a droppable div. The goal is to create a new item, not to move from one list to the other. When a new draggable is dropped, a new div is added to the droppable div and a sortable is created. Everything is working fairly well, to

sortable_element does not initiate AJAX calls
Having an odd problem with sortable_element. The :url option doesn;t seem to actually work. No AJAX calls are being generated. I can tell because Firebug extension does not show any AJAX requests, and the development.log file does not do anything when droppping the items in new positions. Here is the code I am using for sortable generation: <%= sortable_element

Sortable list with Ajax and delete function - working example
Hi. I read most of the postings here but unfortunately I didin''t found a complete example which could be used. Of cource the ones who are professionals in javascript could implement the missing peaces from the puzzle. What I''m required to do is a tree (sortable list) where items can also be deleted and at each modification a function (ajax) is called to save the changes. For

Sortable: Ajax not firing?
Using Rails to generate a sortable list, I get the draggable/sortable page elements, but Ajax never fires back the post-sorted list. (I''ve checked with IE & Firefox, the "save this order to the DB" controller hasn''t been called.) The View: <p>Drag to sort.<span id="sort_info"></span></p> <ul id="sort1">

Sortable trees
I''ve added the sortable tree patch from Sammi to the script.aculo.us trunk-- please help testing it! Besides testing the sortable trees itself, reports about any side effects on draggables or standard sortables are more than welcome. Kudos to Sammi for the elaborate patch and the great new functionality it brings to script.aculo.us! -Thomas

Dropping on empty script.aculo.us sortable lists
I have a need to have two sortable lists with the ability to cross drop items between the list. I am using the script.aculo.us<http://script.aculo.us>library. All is well until I empty one of the lists completely out, at which time I cannot drop anything in to the empty list. I have used CSS to set the height of the <UL> so I have a large target to drop on. In my efforts to make it

Allowing drops on "empty" sortable
Hey folks, On the Drag and Drop demo page in the Sortable Lists Demo section: http://script.aculo.us/drag-and-drop If you drag all of the items from the first list into the second list, it appears that you cannot drag a list item back into the first (now empty) list. Is there a way to allow a Sortable that is empty of draggable items to accept dropped items? Danilo

A small question about dragging effect on sortables

Sortable list: how to create a triggering "handle"/deactivate part of the <li> element?
Hi all, When using sortable lists, a click anywhere in a <li> element will trigger the "sort_by_dragging" mode, and have the clicked element follow the mouse. The active area is the entire <li> element. Is there a way to either : - limit the active/triggering "area" to a part of the <li> element (like a luggage handle) or - prevent a part of the

Multiple dynamic Sortables
I''m writing an appliation that contains several dynamically created lists. I had hoped that the following method for using the Sortable library from scriptaculous would work: 1) create the list 2) create a Sortable for it 3) create another list 4) create a Sortable for it and so on. Unfortunately this doesn''t work. I can''t find any info in the documentation for
