A couple of draggable patches...
Hi all,
I've just raised a ticket <http://dev.rubyonrails.com/ticket/2826> with a
patch for enabling 'snapToGrid' feature for draggables.
I'm writing a framework on top of scriptaculous and it appeared to me that
this would be something that could belong to core Draggable objects.
To activate, just add to draggable options on creation. (By default gridSize
is set to 10)

[Ferret] Test failures for ferret tagged REL-0.10.14
Hi Dave,
I''ve been getting some segment faults while running my tests using
0.10.14 gem so I decided to package the gem locally to add -dH and
generate core dumps for you.
So I followed instructions here
http://ferret.davebalmain.com/trac/wiki/DownloadCurrent and first off
ran the tests.
I''m getting the following failures. (see this pastie

New BackgrounDRb release
Friends-
There is a new release of BackgrounDRb. This time it is a full
fledged rails plugin with generators and rake tasks thanks to Saimon
Moore. Thanks Saimon!
You can read all about it here on my blog:
http://brainspl.at/articles/2006/05/25/backgroundrb-new-release
The newest feature besides the much cleaner way to install and
control the drb server is caching. You can now use

[ActsAsFerret] Globalize integration
Hi,
I''ve modified the latest acts_as_ferret code (version 0.3.0) to
integrate with the Globalize (http://www.globalize-rails.org/globalize/)
plugin.
Essentially, I''ve added the ability to use a separate index per locale
(It basically adds the language code as a suffix to the index and
switches between indexes when the active locale changes).
Since this introduces an optional

Possible solutions to txtdrive process killing for cpu usage
Hi,
I''ve just deployed a basic ecommerce site on textdrive.com. The
application has been stress tested on our local development machines and
appears to be running fine (no memory leaks).
However, on textdrive the fcgi processes are being killed after just a
few requests apparently because of cpu usage (The log says the processes
exceeds 17% average cpu usage in the last few minutes)

Selenium. Replacement for traditional rails functional test?
Hi list
I''ve got a bit of a philosophical question. After just having discovered
Selenium /Selenium IDE and the rails selenium plugin I''ve realized that
it''s a whole lot easier to do functinoal testing than writing the
traditional rails functional tests.
However it implies that the development database consists of
standardized test data (e.g the test & dev

Two patches for Snap
Hi,
There are a couple of problems with Snapping Windows that I tried to fix:
(1) The snap to windows checkbox in ccsm has no effect because Snap treats
any window with struts as an edge, and all windows have struts. I think it
should be a test for dock windows.
(2) Windows don't snap to the left edge because it has been erased. The
right edge doesn't seem to get erased because it is

Patch to wobbly snap for outputs
Here's a patch to wobbly.c to handle edge snapping with multiple outputs...
Also, I tweaked the window edge snapping to include dock window types, to
support the case where dock windows may be on the inner edges of multiple
monitors (and thus currently ignored as struts in the output workarea setup).
I personally think we should include these "inner" struts when calculating the

draggables bug(s)
Loving using draggables/sortables in rails... two small issues though -
First bug: creating a draggable object with a handle in rails:
<%= draggable_element "item_#{item.id}", :handle=>"myhandle" %>
this generates code like this:
<script type="text/javascript">new Draggable(''item_7'',
{handle:myhandle})</script>

Sortables/Draggables and overflow
If the containing element has it’s overflow property set to anything but
"visible" and I try to drag something out of the list, the draggables
are dragged underneath the “border” ( the hidden area of the container)
and thus become partly or completely invisible. Any ideas to prevent
this from happening?
I think, a future solution might be to immediately (on startDrag) detach

Limit to the number of draggables?
I''m wondering if there''s a max number of draggables. I have a
situation where there are something like 60-80 draggable items and
they work fine on the test server with only a handful of items, but in
production with the full load they no longer work. It''s possible
there''s something else different -- somehting with style sheets or
something, but I wanted to see

Draggables Question
Hello guys,
I am creating a file browser using the libraries. I am having a problem with the draggables. When start dragging a draggable in firefox it puts a line under the dragable and does not remove it. I have the draggables on span tags with an a tag as the child and an image and some text as the child to the a tag.
Is anyone else having these problems.
Thanks

[GLOBALIZE] Trouble getting example on wiki working
Hi,
I decided to integrate globalize into my app yesterday but I''ve run into
trouble.
I originally decided to try a db translation on one of my models so I
followed the wiki example and modified where appropriate.
When I tried to create an empty Album via the console I get the
following error:

I tried to investigate and from what I

Problem with trash and two partitions in samba
Good day,
I'm analyst full networks of a public office in Brazil.
We use Samba to share files between users , use the trash to move deleted files as a security issue .
In our file server have two partitions.
Noticed that the trash directory must be on the same partition as the files are , as we have two partitions , we created two dumps, only a dumpster works. I wonder , how to recycle files

Draggables, Floats, DOM and IE
Hello All,
While performing work on an upcoming project, we are running into a
problem where floats are not showing up in draggables under IE when
these elements are dynamically added to a container via the DOM. Of
course, we are re-initializing the Draggables on re-insertion, but IE is
not rendering the floats -- although they are there, and once the
element is dragged, they appear.

Draggables notifier
I have a request for the keeper of the scripts (Thomas?)...
In the Draggables var, I think the onStart and onEnd notify events
should be named more descriptively. For instance onDragStart and
onDragEnd.
This would alleviate a possible place for namespace collisions where
other custom classes might use a similar notify schema (although I would
adamantly recommend all such classes also use
