InPlaceEditor form value
As I understand it the name of the <input> element created when using the InPlaceEditor is "value". When creating an instance of Ajax.InPlaceEditor I have a callback function that looks like this (to send the value using a different parameter name): function(value) { return ''name='' + value;} Using etheral to see what''s getting sent back to the server

InPlaceEditor question
I''ve noticed some strangeness when using the InPlaceEditor. Here''s my code: <p id="storyTitle"><%= storyTitle %></p> <script type="text/javascript"> new Ajax.InPlaceEditor(''storyTitle'', ''editBlog.jsp'', { callback: function(value) { return ''v=edit&user=<%=

Protoype problem
Hey everybody, I encountered an interesting problem today. Here is what I have: I used the prototype function "Position.clone(src, target)" which actually copies the top, left, offsetWidth and offsetHeight from the src to the target. interestingly, my src-object had a css-styled border of 1px, and a total offsetWidth of 320px. my target-object had the same properties, but once I

Slideshow beta
Ok, I finally got the slideshow code to a state worth showing it off. The site is a very rough cut of a site I''m building for my wife''s photography, so ignore the unfinished design for now :) http://rachel.kathihill.com/ To see the ajax version, go to: http://rachel.kathihill.com/?ajax=1 To randomize the order the images show: http://rachel.kathihill.com/?random=1 To change

Draggable performance issues
Using the script.aculo.us Draggables, I''m noticing they are a bit less than fast. I drag them around on the screen and they jump and glitch to catch up with the mouse. Has anyone else noticed this, and are there any optimizations that have been identified that I can apply? I''m using v. 1.5 Sincerely, Ryan Gahl Design Engineer Camtronics Medical Systems (an Emageon

Dell 1950 Perc 6/i with centos 4.5
We are currently running CentOS 4.5 on older Dell Systems. We are upgrading to Dell PowerEdge 1950 with a PERC 6/i raid controller. CentOS 4.5 installation does not see the PERC 6/i controller. Dell and LSI Logic only support RHEL 4U6 and higher and SuSe. I've tried building the boot images with the new driver for installation but kickstart still doesn't see the raid controller.

Please, explicitly quote the source of non-base functions
Sirs, No doubt many of the cerebral and erudite correspondents on the R-list have memorized all the functions in all the CRAN packages. But for the benefit of those less competent, such as I, could posters explicitly quote the source of non-base functions? Lately, intervals() and chron() were discussed on the list, without clear mention that they live in packages `nlme' and

question about Sortables
So, is there any way to specify a sortable to only do a callback when the dragged item is dropped? As it is, the onChange is called whenever you move the draggable to a new element (even if you don''t drop it), but I''d rather only call my function after they drop it to avoid unnecessary additional server calls. It looks like Droppable supports an ''onDrop'', but

mdadm: hot remove failed for /dev/sdg: Device or resource busy
Hello all, I have run into a sticky problem with a failed device in an md array, and I asked about it on the linux raid mailing list, but since the problem may not be md-specific, I am hoping to find some insight here. (If you are on the MD list, and are seeing this twice, I humbly apologize.) The summary is that during a reshape of a raid6 on an up to date CentOS 6.3 box, one disk failed, and

Recent kernel update vs usb disk
Hello there, since kernel update 2.6.32-220.4.1.el6, one of my USB external SATA drives is not mounting. With kernel 2.6.32-131.21.1.el6, it auto-mounts in GNOME desktop when I plug the disk. When I plug the disk, this wakes it up and I see in /var/log/messages: kernel: usb 2-4.2: USB disconnect, address 11 kernel: usb 2-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 13 kernel: usb
