Sortable Tree Addition [PATCH]
Hello, here is the initial patch for support for sortable trees. Please as many people download this code and test with your lists and feel free to add more list tests. Files modified were dragdrop.js and prototype.js. Some new options have been added. ''treeTag'' specifies the tag used to contain children elements. ''tree'' must be set to true for this

PNG and Alpha-Transparency
Is there a prototype / extension which will assist in cross-browser support of PNG images? http://www.alistapart.com/articles/pngopacity/ It seems to me that a class could be developed which would zip through the DOM and make changes where needed for IE 5.5 / IE 6.0 to handle PNG images. I don''t want to write one if it''s been done before. Sam

enumerables problem?
I was wondering whether anybody could please tell me why this is causing an error in IE (works in Firefox): $A(container.getElementsByTagName(''*'')).each( function(el) { Element.cleanWhitespace(el); }.bind(this)); What would be an alternative of achieving the same? Draggables and Droppable performance (tips)
Hi all. I have some performance tips to share. I had been having problems with the overall performance of the drag/drop objects. This is due largely to the fact that my project really pushes the limits (potentially thousands of draggables and hundreds of droppables in the document at a time, although that is the extreme case). Something I discovered is that the performance of dragging goes WAY

What does mean $(element) ?
Hi All, In scriptaculous scripts, I don''t understand this syntaxe : $(element) --8<--------------------------------- Effect.Highlight = Class.create(); Object.extend(Object.extend(Effect.Highlight.prototype, Effect.Base.prototype), { initialize: function(element) { this.element = $(element); ... --8<--------------------------------- I had never seen this syntaxe, I

Prototype: toggle() not supported on TD in IE?
The following line causes trouble both with IE 6&7: cels[i].toggle(); It tells me that this element does not support the property or method. The element is a cell (TD) which I checked by outputting the tagName and it works with FF, Opera and Safari. The IE script debugger stops at this line but I didn''t find a single posting on the net with a similar problem which is kind of strange.

reloading fragments of pages
Hello, I have a treeview, that works with scriptaculous in order to load the nodes dynamically. I also have in the main part of the page, a table with the list of elements. The lists of elements can be drag-dropped on the treeview in order to move them around (they are also draggable on other parts of the page) I need though, to refresh the treeview to reflect changes when a folder was moved

Uncomplete hiding on Firefox 1.5
Hi all, I have observed the following on Firefox 1.5 (both on XP and OSX): My page has some div containers that hold sortable ul. The div's also contain links for showing/hiding the contained ul's. No matter which effect I use to do the hiding and showing (Fade/Appear, SlideUp/Down, BlindUp/Down) the hidden ul's don't hide completely, leaving a blank 'trace' behind.

using Singleton with Prototype
Hello all. I''m writing my own object using prototype and I wonder how you write and call only one instance of class. Can anyone share his idea of singleton? thanks Gregor ---------------------------------------------------- Gdy nadchodzi przełomowy moment w historii, musisz zdecydować, po czyjej stronie będziesz. BlindDown on a div with overflow: auto...
I have a div with overflow: auto... BlindUp works fine. But BlindDown simply waits the duration and shows the div at full size (no blinding down effect). If I remove overflow: auto it works fine. Why would this work for BlindUp but not BlindDown? Sincerely, Ryan Gahl Design Engineer Camtronics Medical Systems (an Emageon Company) Ryan.gahl-nlycWCgr5/vuufBYgWm87A@public.gmane.org

Draggable performance issues
Using the script.aculo.us Draggables, I''m noticing they are a bit less than fast. I drag them around on the screen and they jump and glitch to catch up with the mouse. Has anyone else noticed this, and are there any optimizations that have been identified that I can apply? I''m using v. 1.5 Sincerely, Ryan Gahl Design Engineer Camtronics Medical Systems (an Emageon
