Problem with colors in contour plot
Dear R users, I have a 51 by 51 matrix of p-values (named as pvalue_MA). I want to present graphically this matrix in a plot (filled contour plot) where both axes represent probabilities. I have also added a grid in this plot. I want to highlight in white the cells of the grid that represent p-values smaller than the (common) significance threshold, 0.05. The code from this plot is colored in

Genetic Algorithms with rbga.bin using AIC as the evalFunc
Hi all. I would like to use the rbga.bin function (from the "genalg" package) as part of a model selection process to whittle down a list of ~40 potential explanatory variables to only the most important ones. Unfortunately, despite my working knowledge of R for linear modeling and basic statistics, I cannot understand the two examples provided with the documentation for rbga.bin

Btrfs and more compression algorithms
Hi Chris, Hi Josef, Hi Btrfs-List and all other Btrfs-devs that I''ve forgot, is there a chance we''ll see a xz file-compression support in Btrfs anytime soon ? I''m sure folks have been waiting for additional compression support besides gzip and lzo (bzip2 seems out of question due to its slowness, there''s pbzip2 but that''s not included in the

ga: genetic algorithms package
Dear all, at the following address http://linaria.dst.unive.it/~claudio/R/Rmaterial.html#ga you can download a package to build simple genetic algorithms. I wrote this package to introduce genetic algorithms to student in labs, which means, the package emphasize "how a ga works" instead of "how fast it could be". Please, let me know any comments or suggestions, Bests,

R and marine protected areas: algorithms for site selection
Dear listers, a central problem in conservation biology is the selection of sites in reserve network design. many algorithms have been published, and I was wondering any have been implemented in R. I did not seen anything on CRAN or R-help, or on the web in general. Best regards, Eric Eric Pante ---------------------------------------------------------------- College of Charleston, Grice

Two issues: WEKA code in R // Probability Estimation Tree algorithms
Hi everyone, this email basically pursues two distinct main goals. I appreciate any help! First of all I was wondering if there is any possibility to get WEKA files (coded in Java) to run in R respectively RWeka. I first considered if it was possible with the Weka_interface implemented in RWeka but apparently it is not. Is there any way? Secondly I am looking for implementations to produce

Can I allocate memory dynamically when enqueue or dequeue? (adding some algorithms in kernel)
Hi, I''m adding a queuing disc. inside kernel. I am confused that it seems few other qdiscs allocate memory dynamically. Is it invalid to use memory calls like molloc or just a suggest that do not use it often? graph algorithms in R
Dear R users, just a quick question: Is there a reliable and good graph library for R, eg. with shortest path algorithms on adjacency matrixes? I already found a graph package as part of "Bioconductor". Are there more? If anyone knows and would tell me, I appreciate very much! Cheers, Andre -- Dipl.-Inform.
