How to best handle a hierarchy
Hi all, First of all, as this is my first post, please accept my appologies if I have posted this to the wrong place. Any help, advice or guidance is always gratefully received :) I''m pretty new to Ruby and Ruby on Rails - in fact I only picked up the books a couple of days ago and already I''m thinking of porting some of my apps across! At present I''m working on a

[Rails 3.2] accepts_nested_attributes_for and time_select
Hi, I am upgrading a Rails application from Rails 3.1.11 to 3.2.12, but have a problem with ` accepts_nested_attributes_for` in conjunction with multipart attributes. The app is used to manage oral exams, so there is a model `Exam`, which has many `Examdate`s. When creating an exam, I can also create the examdates, consisting of a date, a start time and an end time. While the date field is

install dovecot 2.2.35 debian jessie
Hey Aki Tuomi, how are you doing? I have tried many ways for getting 2.2.35 pre-built installed via 'apt-get install' in Debian Jessie and Stretch using the official repos. The reason I prefer to install pre-built instead of compiling it is because the I run it on dockers, so it's a lot easier and automated to just apt-get install it. I was using 2.2.31 devel in Debian Jessie, I

2nd DC, internal DNS: dns_tkey_negotiategss: TKEY is unacceptable
Hi everyone, I'm testing with a Samba4 AD network, and I have some problems with DNS on the second DC, with which I could use a bit of your help. I have an AD with two DC's, both Samba 4.2.3. On the first DC, samba_dnsupdate works fine. With stock 4.2.3 I get the error "TSIG error with server: tsig verify failure" but the DNS updates succeed anyway, and after applying

Hi! 2.2.35 is not unstable, but apparently it is in debian distribution, which is called 'unstable'. As soon as I do that, samba_dnsupdate works on the secondary. When I change it back to use the local Samba as resolver, it no longer works. So it is a DNS issue (possibly related to replication

{nlme} Multilevel estimation heteroscedasticity
Dear All, I'm trying to model heteroscedasticity using a multilevel model. To do so, I make use of the nlme package and the weigths-parameter. Let's say that I hypothesize that the exam score of students (normexam) is influenced by their score on a standardized LR test (standLRT). Students are of course nested in "schools". These variables are contained in the

[LLVMdev] git Status Update?
To add to the social aspect, I can say from personal experience (as a student/enthusiast developer) that contributing to open source projects that use a decentralized SCM model (e.g. git) is easier than a centralized (e.g. subversion) model. I can create a clone on github (or local, or wherever), commit all that I want, then send pull requests or patches to the upstream maintainers. With a

Data Access problem?
Running some company specific software, which is an exam/test. It runs fine on Windows OS machines. On Vista machines it requires the addition of the msvbvm50.dll. The exam has a minimum of two sections of questions, say topic A, and topic B. When installed in WINE, it has required the addition of jet40 and vb5run in winetricks to make the program run. Running the exam with the minimum 2 topics
