Centos7 broken after update
I've launch a "yum update" while I was going to lunch. 1 hour later the
system was completely freezed (no mouse, no keyboard, screen black, no
network).
I try a hard reboot => kernel panic on the new kernel
I boot on the old kernel => boot hangs with gnome-shell failure. SSH was
OK so I remove the new kernel and re-install gnome shell.
Reboot is ok but now the computer

lost connection during yum update
During today's big Centos 6 update I lost my connection to a machine during the
"yum update" and when I logged back in and ran yum update again it told me to
run yum-complete-transaction. When I ran yum-complete-transaction I got
screen after screen of "x is a duplicate with x" where x consists of a huge
list of packages.
"package-cleanup --dupes" gives me a

Centos7 broken after update
Hi Ulf
thanks for the suggestion. Indeed it seems I have a problem with glibc. Version is different between x86_64 and i386 and I have two glibc-common for x86_64.
Trying to remove the old one request removing half of the system packages because of the dependancies. The newest cannot be removed.

[OFFTOPIC] integrated LSI 3008 :: number of hdd support
Hi guys! Unfortunately there is no offtopic list but the subject
is somehow related to centos as the OS is/will be centos :)
So, under this thin cover i ask :
Is it possible that for a SAS controler like LSI 3008 that in specs
says that : "This high-performance I/O controller supports T-10
data protection model and optical support, PCIe hot plugging,
and up to 1,000 connected devices"

fs for > 16 TiB partition
Hi,
What would you recommend as an FS for an partition greater than 16 TiB?
This is for an production server (that is, no ext4 recommendations
please :) )
What experiences did you had with your preferred FS ? (good and not so
good points)
Thank you,
Adrian

packaging :: why would a x86_64 package depend on i686 packages?
Hi! I recently encountered a situation when a x86_64 package is
dependent on i686 packages..
Does anyone with packaging experience know why this could be necessary?
What arguments (logical and technical) can i bring to the said packager
in order to stop this chain of dependencies?
Thanks!
