Scriptaculous blind up effect not working from innerhtml in IE? Help please.
I have some tables wrapped in divs, when you
click them, they are hidden and then some of the data
is added as a div into another div by way of
innerhtml. When you you click on these new divs that
are in the html, they should go away. This works fine
in Firefox but doesn''t work at all in IE. Does anyone
have any ideas? The weird thing is if I take the
source of the html after the

RE: Error: "onclick() is not a function"
I see what he is saying now. When you assign a click event with the
Event.observe it does not allow you to call it with the
$(''xxx'').onclick(); command as it''s looking for the onclick tag in the a
tag.
I''m stumped on a way to get this to work.

that dragable element from the top and the left, to move (using the
Effect.MoveBy method) a larger image - so effective

Find the number of intersections according factor levels
Dear all,
I have two vectors x and y, both of which are of length 1000.
I created a factor as.factor(rep(1:100,each=10)).
Now I want to count, for each factor level, the number of intersections
between x and y. In other words, I would like to count the number of
intersections between x[1:10] and y[1:10], the number of
intersections between x[11:20] and y[11:20], the number of
intersections

Attaching event observers to a series of elements - best practice?
Hi all,
New member here. I''ve been working with Prototype for a while, and I
love it. However, there''s one thing I still can''t figure out.
Let''s say I have an array of objects, representing contacts in an
address book:
var contacts = [
{ id: 1, firstName: "Bob", lastName: "Smith" },
{ id: 2, firstName: "Sue", lastName:

prototype.js Ajax is slow
So I was doing some experimenting with prototype and ajax and discovered
something interesting. When I use the first ajax call the response from
the server take 53ms. When I use the second on using the prototype
functions the request from the server is over 200ms. My question is
why, and can it be fixed?

Question about event listener highlighting with child elements
I have created a JavaScript object which is initialized for some input
fields, fieldsets, and divs on the page. With each object i attach a
mouseover and mouseout event that highlights and un-highlights. Also on
mouseout i am trying to display the id of the object to a console. The
highlighting works except for cases when an object is the child of another
object. In this case both are highlighted

Problem using POST with IE 6
Hey guys, hope one of you can help me.
I have the following code that works with Firefox but not within IE.
The basic premise is that when using a POST to send to my page, IE
doesn''t seem to send it and therefore doesn''t fire the database update.
GET''s work fine in IE but due to the potential volume of text, a GET
is not realistic.
In Firefox, GETs and POSTs work as

RE: Question about event listener highlighting withchild elements
1. Create a separate class that has your highlight/unhighlight behavior
in it, and extend just the element you want to highlight with that
class... like this (also allows you to easily apply this behavior
elsewhere when you need it in the future):
Object.extend(this.el, HighlightBehaviorClass.prototype)
2. When defining your event handlers, assign them to variables so you
