partition woes (mapper/isw_bdihgcgahe_Volume0p2)
Hi,
I found 2 identical drives lying around and put them into a system.
When booting from a Centos 5.x installer, and when being presented
with the formatting option (disk druid), it says I have 1 volume of;
mamapper/isw_bdihgcgahe_Volume0p2
I can't seem to get rid of it. I have 2 physical disks but disk druid
is seeing 1 volume thats the same size as one of the 2 identical drives.

Disk Druid - control RAID partition layout?
Is it possible to partition a disk with Disk Druid and control the order
of the partitions? I want to create my own boot and swap as RAID
partitions but Disk Druid won't keep them in the order I want, no
matter what I specify first. I've done this before by using fdisk
to make the partitions before starting Disk Druid but I thought
someone said this was an old bug and should have been

Hi,
I'm trying to get dmraid 1.0.0rc9 [0] to compile with --enable-klibc, however I
have some troubles with mkfifo defined in /usr/lib/klibc/include/sys/stat.h.

CentOS 5.8, Adaptec 6405 but lsmod lists dmraid?
Hi
I have (actaully on a number of machines) various Adaptec card
installed, yet lsmod shows "dmraid" loaded?
How come?
I thought that dmraid is software raid?
Is this part of the booting and if so How do I tell mkinitrd NOT to make it part of the bootup process?

centos 5.5 install + intel raid
Hi all,
Installing 5.5 on a fresh system having an Intel RAID.
My 2 drives are configured as a mirror within the Intel BIOS.
When starting my install, Anaconda throws an exception.
After a brief goog, I see one possible fix is - at the install prompt,
type;
linux text nodmraid
This is fine and all but Centos sees 2 disks at this point rather then
1 which is what I thought the Intel RAID

CentOS 4.2 and Adaptect 1210SA
Adaptec 1210SA with a RAID 0
Intel 815 based mobo
512mb ram
During the install, Disk Druid or whatever the partition utility is,
sees the first disk but says the other disk is not initialized and
only reports 150MB when the array is 300MB. How do I get the CentOS
installer to see the RAID 0 array correctly?

IIRC the old dmraid support for motherboard RAID has been phased out,

RAID 1 Post Install
Hello all,
I've got CentOS 5.2 installed on an old Pentium III server. The server is
used by a club at my school, and they are rapidly running out of room on the
internal IDE drives that are configured in software RAID 1.
I have a Silicon Image SATA controller in the server, and I was planning on
adding two more SATA hard drives to the computer.
Is there a GUI like Disk Druid for

Problem with dual-booting soft-RAID
I set up IDE software-RAID on a test machine for testing the recover
functionality. The problem is that it somehow won't boot after removing
the first disk, although grub etc. seems to be setup okay. Here's some
background:
2 disks hda and hdb
RAID 1 setup:
/dev/md0 (hda1 + hdb1) /boot
/dev/md1 (hda2 + hdb2) /
/dev/md2 (hda3 + hdb3) swap
