Panic: file mail-index-transaction-export.c: line 203 (log_append_ext_hdr_update): assertion failed: (u32.offset + u32.size <= ext_hdr_size)
Hi there,
We recently upgraded to 2.2.12 (the current version in FreeBSD's port
tree), and are seeing these errors in our logs (not super frequently,
but it happens):

Dovecot, IMAP, and mutt
Hello,
I'm running FreeBSD 6.0 release on x86 hardware and am using mutt
version 1.5.11. Not running dovecot on/over NFS or anything, just the
standard UFS2 filesystem. I'm also using SSL for IMAP.
Since dovecot 1.0.b8, I've had to instruct mutt to do things twice
(such as deleting) before the changes will actually occur. I've
confirmed that this does not happen with dovecot

phantom new mail (mailboxes keep on being reported as having new mail)
Hi,
I'm using dovecot 1.0_beta3 on Gentoo Linux, and am experiencing a
problem of what I call 'phantom mail'. This problem I have for a long
time (pre 1.0), but at the moment I'm using 1.0_beta3 and the problem
still is in there.
My setup is as follows:
- regular x86 box
- running Exim and Dovecot
- Exim saves new mail in maildir format in a local filesystem

Panic/backtrace in dovecot 2.2.13
Hi
I'm running into regular problems with dovecot choking on "corrupted"
index files. The main problem is that it doesn't sort itself out and
recover. This message below is repeated regularly in the log files
(until I delete the index files)
I *think* the trigger to get into this situation might be a files being
delivered with incorrect S= values in the filename? Which

imap abort after upgrade from 2.2.4 to 2.2.7
Hi,
I used to use dovecot 2.2.4. I saw lots of warnings saying 'Extension header update points outside header size'.
I upgraded to dovecot 2.2.7, based on the discussion in mail list. Now, I see lots of imap aborts around:
src/lib-index/mail-index-transaction-export.c:203: i_assert(u32.offset + u32.size <= ext_hdr_size);
I also noticed, in some mailbox, imap process kept

Debugging help: BUG: Assertion failure with ext3-0.95 for 2.4.7
Hello ext3-developers,
Just to summarize, I reported a kernel bug message with ext3 on S/390 in
transaction.c. I was able to reproduce it with a ext3 on LVM and on MD.
Tom Rini reported a similar problem on PPC. (both big endian). I have sent
a backtrace and with jbd-debug set to 5 I was not able to reproduce the
problem until now.
On S/390 there are some more debug possibilities. I would
